The massively used platform used by porn stars to directedly reach their fans OnlyFans does not want to be in the porn business anymore.

OnlyFans will no longer allow content creators like your favorite porn stars to post any  sexually explicit conduct there, starting in October. Creators will supposedly still be allowed to post nude photos and videos, provided they are all compliant with OnlyFans’ policy, the company said Thursday in a story published by Bloomberg.

“In order to ensure the long-term sustainability of our platform, and the continue to host an inclusive community of creators and fans, we must evolve our content guidelines,” OnlyFans said as part of their statement about the changes to their platform that are going impacted many sex workers and their customers.

“We will be sharing more details in the coming days, and we will actively support and guide our creators through this change in content guidelines,” the company said. “OnlyFans remains committed to the highest levels of safety and content moderation of any social platform. All creators are verified prior to being able to upload any content to OnlyFans, and all uploaded content is checked by automated systems and human moderators.”

Changes to banking partners and payment providers are most definitely a part of this big change, the company said, acknowledging the pressure that they have received as of late from credit card companies who have been cracking down on allowing their payment methods like Visa, Mastercard and Discover to be used on porn purchases on tube sites like Pornhub.

OnlyFans earlier this week officially launched OFTV, a free streaming service that will not include any sexually explicit material but instead has stuff like fitness, comedy, health, live music and more on it. This thing looks enormous while a whole lot of mainstream potential so stripping the porn out of their world makes having OFTV grow more of a real possibility.

Because it has been a home to porn, OnlyFans is available only on the web, not on mobile app platforms including iOS and Android. Getting rid of the adult content enables growth there as well for OnlyFans.
