Throwback Thursday: Listen To This Excellent Retelling Of John Holmes’ Involvement with The Wonderland Murders

John Holmes Had/Was A Big Dick

It is Throwback Thursday here on Fleshbot and when this crossed my path, I just had to share it with you darling readers.

Badlands is the latest podcast by Jake Brennan, the creative force behind the excellent Disgraceland podcast. Disgraceland is about doomed rock and roll stars and this season of Badlands is aptly titled Hollywoodland. Each episode is all about the tragic life and times of a bigtime Hollywood star whose dreams just did not go the way that they had hoped they would. Previous episodes include a two part episode telling Marilyn Monroe's heartbreaking life story along with lots of speculation about her cause of death (my money is on a poisoned suppository), an episode about River Phoenix's overdose and his time in a cult with his family and an episode telling the story of chubby/possibly murderous comedian Fatty Arbuckle.

The current episode is the only porn one of the season and it is titled "John Holmes: Big Units, Freebase Briefcases, Four on the Floor, and the Wonderland Murders". You can listen to it above and I highly recommend that you do. In my time in adult, I have read/learned/researched a bunch about Holmes' life, his pretty epically destructive addictions and his involvement in the murders of Barbara Richardson, Ron Launius, Joy Miller and Billy DeVerell at 8763 Wonderland Avenue in Los Angeles. The story of Holmes in general really tells a lot about the time and the medium of porn as a whole, in my opinion, so for me, the more I have learned about it, the closer I feel to what is at the center of that time in porn's evolution.

This episode is, without a doubt, the best and most accurate retelling of what probably happened there as far as we all will ever get to know. Spend some time with it if this topic intrigues you like it does me.
