Book Review: Cleis Press’ The Ultimate Guide to Threesomes

Three’s not a crowd!

Cleis Press has just dropped a new book called The Ultimate Guide To Threesomes by Stella Harris. This is both a guidebook for those looking to explore sex for more than two and playbook to level up your game if it’s something you already do.

Harris starts by exploring the hows and whys of threesomes and gives a plethora of ideas about how to explore without diving off the deep end or hurting people’s feelings in the process and advice on how to meet and open conversations with like minded folks. There is an entire chapter dealing with the “unicorn” issue, as well as how to discuss boundaries, limits, and safer sex practices.

We then get into the, er, nuts and bolts of threeway sex encounters and different techniques to try. I was kind of side-eyeing “The Handmaiden” which, is exactly what it sounds like, a position lifted from the book/TV show The Handmaid’s Tale. Sorry Ms.Harris, I’m thinking we can’t really bring the sexy back to that. But we also do have porn parodies of the show and people have eroticized worse, so different strokes for different folks, I guess. Despite that particular choice, there are tons of fun combinations and spicy suggestions, with and without kink included, and adaptable to threesomes of all genders.
