Praline is not a pretty in pink, bubbly, bouncing, giggling cis-privileged vibrator user during director Toni Karat’s The Mirror. Instead, she brings a languid, smoldering, boho sexuality to her solo sex. As a surgically affirmed transwoman, her exploration of her body is additionally mesmerizing and erotic. The camera keeps its COVID distance as she sits on a simple chair in an attic in front of a mirror, but it’s not necessary to be close to her cunt to see that her body is tightening, her spine arching, and her toes curling.
