Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone you just learned of this band. ;) There are so many, many great Velvet Underground songs. This one, I chose because it always given me the “feels”. I have been in many of situations feeling trapped--physically and mentally....financially. This song reminds me of that feeling that comes when you realize your entrapment is always self induced! Maybe this song means something different for you. So be it!:)

"Private Life" by Oingo Boingo: I’m a BIG Danny Elfman fan. For those unfamiliar with him, he’s the lead singer of Oingo Boingo and composer for the Tim Burton soundtracks. I grew up stealing my dad's music. When I heard this song and the manic lyrics filled with eccentric qualities, I couldn’t help but relate. This song perfectly describes my weird introverted inner self. I was a book/art nerd growing up. I spent the majority of my time alone in my room troubled with social anxiety. In the museum of Lyra Law, this would be sitting on display next to my beloved Walkman.

"Powerful Love" by Chuck and Mac: This is the PURrrrfect song to make love to. I suggest a bottle of wine. Gosh, maybe even something stronger. Lots of deep kissing and sex that starts in one room and ends in another. I promise if you put this on with your lady, she will never look at you the same. "Day Dreaming" by Aretha Franklin: I had this album on vinyl. This song reminds me of being in my loft in downtown L.A. years ago. I had 12 foot ceilings and installed a powder blue swing that I would spend hours on naked swinging and listening to this album, daydreaming about a old fashion kind of love, the kind you saw marriage and babies with, ha ha, complete with the perfect late '50s house with flowery wall paper and housewife manners. ;)
