Checking In with Eliza Jane, Star Of Pure Taboo’s “Anne: A Taboo Parody”

"Anne" Isn't Little Anymore!

Pure Taboo has released the first two chapters of "Anne: A Taboo Parody" and it is pretty freaking awesome. It parodies the story of the well-known comic strip orphan girl with porn star Eliza Jane in the lead of the production directed by Bree Mills and AVN Hall of Famer Craven Moorehead. Here's what Jane has to say about this movie!

So how are you, Eliza? How are things?

"I’m doing very well, thanks. Life has been busy in the best way and I’m feeling fine."

Your new Pure Taboo series is super hot and very compelling. What did you enjoy most about playing the iconic role of Little Orphan Annie/Anne in this way?

"Thank you! I think what I enjoyed most about playing Anne was being able to lose myself in a character more deeply than I had experienced before. I took my blonde locks red to better look the part. For weeks before shooting, I practiced being able to cry when needed. I drew outlines for Anne, detailing everything I knew about her from what I was given and everything I wanted to add to her. When we would shoot, sometimes everything would feel like a blur after and it was never in a bad way. It was like an out of body experience as I got to push myself out of the way to feel and experience the world as Anne. It’s such an incredible thing to experience. In fact, it’s the best high I’ve found."

What do you enjoy most about performing in porn parodies versus an all-sex/gonzo type of a scene? I know that acting is very important to you.

"I love all-sex scenes. They’re such a fun chance to let loose and really just explore my own sexuality with the help of somebody else (who is probably amazing at sex). How sweet of a deal is that? But yes, acting is very important to me and when I can pair it with sex, I’m in heaven. I think there’s something so hot about not just having sex you, but as a whole different person. As that character, I have to ask, 'why am I having sex?' Or, 'what do I want to gain from it?' All these questions really turn me on because the sex becomes not just physical, but so mentally stimulating. 'What would this person say now?' 'How would they touch this person?' Sex is powerful, therefore can be such a powerful storytelling tool and I’m so eager to continue to explore the types of stories my words and body are capable of telling with others."

What did you find most challenging about performing in this?

"I do love that while we were all given a thorough outline of the movie, all the lines were improv. There is a beautiful freedom to not being bound to the words of a script so that the focus can be on the emotion of the scene, but it is definitely not always easy. It required losing myself at times because there were so many moments where Anne experiences traumatic moments and I knew that if I didn’t truly pull off those extreme emotions and reactions in a believable way, the integrity of the story would be lost. I had to take a lot of alone time for scenes that called for extreme sadness or anger because being able to get into those mindsets on command and stay there was incredibly challenging."

What do you enjoy most about working for Pure Taboo?

"The best part about Pure Taboo is that I always know I’m going to be around amazing people. The crew consists of some of the most genuine, creative and efficient people I’ve met in this industry. They are so passionate about what they do and the care and enthusiasm shown by the crew seems to always be returned by the cast. And man, do they know how to cast. I don’t mean to brag, but have you seen who I got to work with on this movie? How could I ask for more talented people to collaborate with? I’m pleased with my performance as Anne but I owe it all to the amazing performers and behind the camera folk (editors included!) I worked with. They all really set the bar with this one."

Your scenes are consistently super. What do you think is the most important factor in making a great porn scene?

"Gosh, thank you. I think that adult film is like any other type of performance art in that it really does require loving what you do. Of course there are days it’s difficult to get out of bed, just like any other job, but at the end of every day, I love this industry. To have been able to act and meet great people and have incredible sex is a dream and I am appreciative of being able to have done it every single day. I hope no matter the scene, that has always shone through in the work I’ve put out."

What did you think of your scene partners in this? Who gave your favorite performances?

"Dream team. That’s not even an exaggeration, this was an actual dream team to work with. I was so blown away by every single performance and that’s really something for a cast this large. Every day on set I watched everyone around me pour their soul into their parts and it was all too stunning to pick one favorite performance. That sounds like the polite way to answer and I’m glad it is, but I really do mean it. I encourage everyone to take the time to watch this because those performances demand to be seen."

What are you proudest of about how this came out?

"I’m just so pleased overall. I’m proud of my work as well as the work of everyone else involved. I’m proud of how well part 1 is already being received online, and I’m proud there’s still two more parts coming because the story has only just begun. This is work I will always look back on fondly."

So what else is coming up for you?

So much. If I may gush for just a bit, I’m so excited about September. I just had my birthday on September 7th and I feel really optimistic about it. The first part of 'Anne' was just released, my cats are cute and healthy as ever, I’ve been traveling all over the country meeting interesting people and eating all sorts of food, I got hired for my first mainstream entertainment job, and I’m just overall feeling great about where I’m at and where I’m headed. I really think that this is going to be a good year."
