What kind of girl were you back in high school? Who did you hang out with/date?
"I was kind of a bro in high school - still am! I hung out with the guys, but I was also cheerleading captain. I was laid back and funny, kind of a smart ass but willing to befriend just about anyone. I went to a small private school and I was always just a little out there - I had strong opinions about sexuality, feminism, relationships, etc., pretty young, and I wasn’t shy about standing up for myself. I dated a few people in my friend group, but I think most guys saw me as more of a friend to drink beer with than a girl to date. Which is fine by me, because kicking back with a beer and a good friend is still my ideal date!"

Were you a porn fan before you got into the industry? Who were your favorite porn stars/favorite porn movies?
"I was! I’ve always been a big porn fan. I just see it as a genre where the sky is really the limit in terms of crazy shit you can make - it’s very 'ballsy' if you will. I’ve always loved Kink.com and watched a lot of Sex and Submission. I was a big fan of James Deen, Riley Reid and Lexi Belle before entering the industry. Now I can say I’ve gotten to hang out with Lexi, and she’s so sweet and cool!"

What kind of scene have you found is your favorite kind to do so far?
"Really anything where I get to work one on one with another performer, boy/girl or girl/girl. I love getting to vibe on someone’s energy and create great chemistry! I don’t care for POV or solos as much because it feels like I have to put on the show alone and that’s nerve wracking to me! I need a partner in crime."

What/who do you want to do on-camera that you haven’t done yet?

How did you become a porn performer? What led you down that career path?
"I worked as a production assistant and marketing manager for Insex in Portland, Oregon for about 8 months before getting in front of the camera. I was a year out of college and feeling stuck, uninspired, generally disappointed with corporate America before I got into the adult industry. I knew a 9-5 desk job wasn’t gonna fly for me. I wanted an adventure, and I wanted to be in position to be my own boss, make my own money, and manage my own time. Porn has let me do all that and more. I really think as a woman in this industry, the opportunities are out there to create whatever kind of life you imagine for yourself. It just takes a little sweat, tears, and patience. I love my job, and I’m proud of what I do and the life I’ve built for myself through sex work."

What do you most want to achieve in the industry?
"I would really like to be a good representative of my industry. Women in porn are smart, creative, incredibly driven and frankly, could succeed at anything they set their minds to; I chose this, because I like it and I’m good at it! I feel very lucky to get to do what I do, and I take my job seriously. All I really want is for the world to recognize and respect that in all performers."

What is one thing you would teach a woman who wanted to be a better sexual partner?
"LISTEN, COMMUNICATE, AND ADVOCATE FOR YOURSELF! Speak up when you like something, speak up when you don’t, help your partner figure out how to please you. Listen and ask them the same! The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Also. Stop faking orgasms!"

What do you love most about being in porn?
"I love how I get to manage my time. I have complete control over when I work, how I work, and who I work with. I get to say, "hey, I’ve had a hard week, I’m taking a few days off to go hiking or spend time with my dog.” I almost never have to wake up before 10. I challenge anyone who looks down on sex workers to say they get that out of their job!"

"I spend time with friends, take my dog to the beach. I’m an obsessive thrift shopper! I also woodwork and restore old furniture, so I’m always trolling Craigslist for a new project. I also recently got the opportunity to work for Jacky St. James, who makes gorgeous movies and was fantastic to work for. What is coming up for you?
"I have a lot of bigger projects coming up in August and September that I can’t share to much about right now, but I’m really excited about!"

What single piece of advice would you give a brand new female performer?
"Stand up for yourself and be kind. Say no to things you don’t want to do, even if 'everyone else is doing it'. It’s hard at first, but every time you say no, it gets easier. You can be firm and be gentle. Nothing has ever made me feel so empowered."
