What kind of girl were you back in high school? Who did you hang out with/date?
"I was kind of a loser--bookish, shy, and awkward, with very few friends, so i spent most of my lunches in the library, reading. I was depressed and didn't go to school most of the time. Also, I decided to shave off my eyebrows for some inexplicable reason that year as well. So I didn’t look so hot and I didn’t go to class enough to make close friends or date at all in high school."

Were you a porn fan before you got into the industry? Who were your favorite porn stars/favorite porn movies?

"Not really, to be completely honest. I did try to watch some porn back then, but all the noise, flesh and bodily fluids--it was just too explicit for me to really get off to. I wasn't fully comfortable with my own sexuality back then, despite being promiscuous, and so watching people fucking--people who had clearly embraced their sexual nature--just heightened my awareness of it. I preferred things that were less graphic and more suggestive, or better yet--dependent on one's own imagination--so I read a lot of trashy romance novels (and fan fiction) that featured florid, euphemism-laden sex scenes, and as well as enjoying some of those softcore striptease-type videos ."

What kind of scene have you found is your favorite kind to do so far?

"I've really only done the garden-variety boy/girl and boy/girl/girl scenes so far. Boy/girl would win by a margin, but only just because I always worry about whether I'm doing it right or hurting the girl when I go down on her. Since I've had my share of bad cunnilingus in the past, I would hate to accidentally/unknowingly inflict that on another girl."

What/who do you want to do on-camera that you haven’t done yet?

"I'd really like to do a blowjob only scene, because as mentioned above, I've only done boy/girl and boy/girl/girl scenes, where the blowjob is usually allotted, like what, five minutes? "Honestly, I just like talking to people in general, but I'm kind of quiet in person, mostly because I'm a mumbler and I mispronounce so many words. So it's really just compensating for being unable to talk to people the way I would like to in real life."

How did you become a porn performer? What led you down that career path?

"To be honest, it just sort of happened. When I needed money, I would go to Craigslist and respond to ads searching for models for an 'erotic photoshoot', which is a super vague term that can mean a lot of things. Sometimes, it's a somewhat amateurish Guy With a Camera looking to take some nude photos for his spank bank, and other times it's just some guy who wants to be a DIY porn director who basically goes like, 'right, here's the camera--let's fuck'. In any case, eventually, I answered an ad put up by a talent scout, and he directed me to my agency. And the rest is history, as they say."

What is one thing you would teach a woman who wanted to be a better sexual partner?

"Uh, I feel like anything that I would have to say would be extremely trite, honestly. If we're going to go the route of just general advice for bedroom activities, then I'd say: don't do anything you don't want to do. (And this applies to both men and women.) I know this sounds like 'no shit Sherlock' but a lot of people force themselves to do stuff that they don't really want to in bed just to please their partner, which is honestly really counter-intuitive, because you can tell when someone doesn't want to do something, and that just ruins the moment completely. If a particular sexual act really is anathema to you, then just say, 'no, I'm sorry, I don't really want to do that--could we do something else that you'd like?' Obviously, this will piss some people off, but if that's the case, then you probably weren't very sexually compatible in the first place."

What do you love most about being in porn?

"Obviously, most people watch porn because it's a way for them to vicariously live out their sexual fantasies, but I think this also holds true for the performer(s) as well. Like I'm sure most of us have fantasized about things like finding and fucking a complete stranger or having someone come onto you while you're asleep and unawares, but (hopefully) we also know that most of these fantasies are either infeasible, potentially dangerous or morally dubious and/or sometimes downright illegal. Porn offers a safe, controlled environment for you to explore your own sexual fantasies--you know what to expect during a scene, you can call cut at any time you feel uncomfortable and you don't have to worry about catching STIs from your partner(s)."

What do you think are “must-have” DVDs for your fans?

"Er, there are really only two DVDs out with me in them, and one of them was released yesterday. I've only watched the Hookup Hotshot one in its entirety, but I'm sure that the Pho'King Asians one is good as well."

What do you like to do for fun?

"I read and write, but I do much more of the former than the latter. Writing isn't really fun for me in the traditional sense--writing actually makes me feel quite miserable, due to my perfectionist tendencies. I'm also fond of arts and crafts, I guess. I've recently gotten into making friendship bracelets, even though I have like what....3 or 4 friends total? I kind of live under a rock and I really don't go out much at all."

What are your favorite fetishes to explore on camera?

"Well, I haven't really gotten the chance to film any fetish stuff, so the answer to this question would basically be a continuation of question #4. I mean, the turnover rate in porn (for girls) is ridiculously high--every year, there's an influx of new, barely legal, starry-eyed girls with aspirations of porn stardom, fresh off buses from all over the country, pouring into the SFV. In order to continue being a successful pornstar after a certain age, you have to be adaptable and versatile. You have to be able to transition from one porn archetype to another, and she's done an admirable job. She's also managed to use her fame as a platform to speak for social issues, particularly those concerning women's rights, sex positivity, racism, and free speech, etc.."

What is the best mainstream movie you have seen recently?

"Technically, that would be a Taiwanese movie called “One Day”. It’s a strange little Möbius strip of a movie, with no concept of time as we know it—the present bleeds into the past and then into the future, and then back around. It's a movie about lovers and the disintegration of time and space. There are obvious Lynchian influences within the movie, such as the slow, teeth-grinding tension and the creeping dread that builds and builds during the first 20 minutes or so, as the protagonist wanders around the unusually quiet ship and we, the viewers, begin to realize that something has gone wrong here. yet another Lynchian trademark, the subtle alteration of a safe, familiar environment into an identical but somehow completely alien version of itself--the seemingly random, nonsensical nature of the events that unfold afterwards: an Indian man who has been shipwrecked runs after her with an axe, then she runs into a somber-looking young soldier, who very earnestly tells her that she will soon move to Taipei and they will start dating not long afterwards, a horse appears on-deck and very quickly, they realize that the rest of the people onboard the ship have mysteriously vanished, leaving them behind in some strange state of dreaming, suspended between what is happening and what will happen. Near the end, when she's trying to wake up, she opens a ship door, which leads into the study room in Taipei where they first met. She has been (temporarily) displaced from her own time, but she is also observing the actions of her future self with an almost clinical sense of detachment.
Unlike (most of) Lynch's work, the chronological disorder and the fragmentation of reality in One Day isn't meant to lead up to some bleak revelation about the morally ambivalent nature of man or unearth some kind of hidden evil/corruption. No, this is a movie that never quite breaks out of its dreamlike state, even after the characters have stopped dreaming. In the same way, you don’t feel the need to frantically scramble around trying to decode the film and figure out its “deeper meaning”.
Please note that I’m in no way trying to detract any of David Lynch’s filmography—in fact, he’s one of my favorite directors. It’s like comparing apples and oranges, really. Lynch’s movies are like Rubik cubes for us—we hold them up to the light, turn and twist them every which way, stumped by its inscrutability, until the pieces finally click together for you and now you understand. whereas, “one day” is like an abstract art piece. There’s no point in trying to figure out what it is—it won’t enhance your viewing experience or anything, it’ll just make your head hurt. This movie reminds me of trying to catch sunlight, something bright and beautiful but also fleeting, ephemeral."

How about the best porno movie? Is there someone whose movies you like to watch who is working now?

"I don't really watch porno movies, to be honest. I do watch web scenes and have purchased clips from manyvids."

What is coming up for you?
"I have a shoot on the 10th, but I'm not sure which company it’s for one in San Francisco on the 30th, and then another shoot in August. I’m looking forward to all of them."

If you could fuck any celebrity, who would it be?

"I can appreciate the aesthetics of physical beauty, but if I don't know the person at all, it's like observing a beautiful work of art. You gaze at it, admire it, but you don't want to fuck it. I wouldn't be able to fuck a celebrity unless I actually knew them/had some kind of interaction with them, because I wouldn't be sexually attracted to them. I'm going to admit that I would definitely listen to Jason Isaacs read the phone book to me though, 'cause the guy has a great voice."

What single piece of advice would you give a brand new female performer?

"I think it would be this: remember that you are in full control of the situation during a shoot (obviously, there are exceptions, sadly). If something hurts or you get tired or hungry or whatever, you can call cut. Please don't suffer in silence because you're afraid that asking for a break will piss off the director (and the rest of the crew) and/or your co-star(s). Most of the time, the people on set want to make sure that the performers (both male and female) are comfortable and happy, because uncomfortable, unhappy performers are not going to produce good scenes."
