A reader writes this morning to alert to us to a notice on the website for the long-running gay BDSM magazine Bound and Gagged: "As of June 23, new federal regulation under the Child Protection and Obscenity Enforcement Act of 1988 will impose record-keeping and inspection requirements for 'adult' photographs that will be virtually impossible for us to comply with. Failure to comply is punishable by fine or imprisonment. We are discontinuing our business operations because we do not currently have the resources to comply with these new federal regulations." Whether or not this is an isolated incident or an opening salvo in an all-out war on porn remains to be seen; in the meantime, you have two weeks to take advantage of B&G's closeout sale on videos and back issues.
