DVD: “Dangerous Liaisons”

There's nothing certain people might like to hear more than that Michael Lucas' massively hyped "Dangerous Liaisons" is a dud, but it looks like the haters are going to have to wait a while for the director's hubris to be served: everything about the reputed quarter million dollar production fairly drips with, uh, class, from the DVD menus to Lady Bunny's outfit in the celebutante-studded final scene. (Oh, and the sex ain't bad either—even though "classy" isn't exactly the word we would use to describe Gus Mattox enjoying a double-decker ass buffet courtesy of Wilfried Knight and newcomer J. and an almost interminable watersports scene on the bonus disk.) Whether or not you're a fan of the Lucas hype machine, it's impossible at least not to be grateful for the effort.
