There's a nice consistency to Philadelphia-based photographer Bryan Mell's portfolio: his subjects are all African-American men, and everything is captured on black and white film. (Oh, and did we mention they're all nude?) According to the artist, "I believe that clothing detracts and distracts from the purity of the subject whether it's male or female. Nudity forces you to focus in on the subject." (Couch potato pervs may recognize several of Bryan's subjects from HBO's "Real Sex", the episode that profiled Philly's male nude strippers; our fave is the model/dancer named Poison, in case you wanted to know.)-RM
