While there's little in the way of changes on the Fleshbot front (our editor Jonno is still okay, though he still can't go home; I'm still here behaving badly until he gets the fuzzy handcuff emergency supply shipment), a handful of adult companies and individuals have stepped up to the plate with some juicy and effective ways to give, even if you're far from the Gulf. · Mark your calendars: one week from today on Sept. 14, Fleshbot fave Comstock Films is donating all proceeds and matching each purchase price of every DVD and preorder sold. That's right; no profit being made and a $25 purchase donates $50 to the American Red Cross, plus you get to see our indy faves Marie and Jack, and Xana and Dax (thumbnail).
· The underpants gnomes lend a hand: Bradlands treads where prudish relief workers fear, namely into the realm of undergarments donations which are apparently scarce. In the name of clean underwear everywhere, visit his site and contribute to the Bradlands Underpants Drive.
· In a move that makes Girls Gone Wild look like so much smegma, Paul Morris of Treasure Island Media is donating 100% of the profit from sales of Damon Blows America 5: New Orleans to the Red Cross Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund.
· Sex toy giant Adam and Eve have a Red Cross donation button on their front page, and so far are still the only retailers to respond.
· Erotic writer and webmistress Jamie Joy Gatto of celebrated site Mind Caviar walked five hours through waist-high water, lost everything, is quite ill and can really use help, from clothing to cash. Sage Vivant's Custom Erotica Source and M. Christian have set up a PayPal account for donations (pay to [email protected]: Jamie Joy), and Tina Hess has set up Yahoo Group jjgattorelief for information and further support.
· Not directly sex related, though they're my favorite source of frankenboob nip slips and obscenely bad taste on the red carpet, Go Fug Yourself has the most complete resource post for donations, help and support that I've seen yet.
· Viviane's Sex Carnival reminds us of the importance of supporting Planned Parenthood clinics hit by the disaster.
· Poppy Z. Brite is still living day to day and now faces the loss of all her much-loved felines (along with all her belongings). Keep up with her LiveJournal, and donate to the Humane Society Katrina Response.
Update: Gay porn company Dirty Boy Studios, whose catalog includes a signifigant number of Mardi Gras titles, will be donating 70% of all sales during the entire month of September to the Red Cross. Now I can finally get the "DickShow" I've always wanted! Actually, I'm not joking...
