DVD: “Shag”

The new release from director Wit Maverick presents an unprecedented cross-cultural marketing challenge for the folks at VCA: to Americans audiences, its title might be understood to refer to a hairstyle, a type of carpeting, or an ill-conceived 1989 vehicle starring Phoebe Cates and Bridget Fonda, while most British porn fans will likely immediately think of ... well, exactly what VCA wants everyone to think. All that plus the added responsibility of having to explain to the casual porn consumer yet again that its lead actress isn't that Cindy Crawford. Who said being a porn publicist was easy?
