Patrice Murciano's paintings combine cubist and surrealist styles with gaudy colors and abstract fetishy babes, creating an altered dimension of otherworldly sexiness. Most of the themes are rehashed and/or remixed from artists like Picasso, Leger, Magritte, and Miro, but with a liberal dose of pop cheesecake to keep it from being too much of an exercise in art historical name checking. And if you don't like swirly colors and disassembled appendages with your smut, there's always Mr. Murciano's other portfolio to explore: photographs of moody, gothy art nudes.A. Tolesco
