HustlerLive, a tiny little division of Larry Flynt's media empire, rents the studios and servers of Video Secrets Media to stage a monthly live show where ladies show up, meet other ladies, and go to work on each other with various Hustler-branded products while gentlemen who paid the $29.95 monthly fee get to say things like "Now kiss each other."

"We made sure we researched each other on the internet first," said Savage of Moran, both of whom are unspeakably sweet people. It would not even be funny—it would only be cruel—to put either of them in a room with a not-nice person, that's how pleasant each of them is.

I asked Hustler's Paul Johnson if these shows ever featured guys. "We avoid that," he said, "because since it's a live show you don't want to get stuck with wood problems."

It is young Johnson's job to book this talent, and his criteria are simple: "Pretty girls who I want to hug."

He stood and marvelled at the screen. "It's retarded how beautiful they are," he said, reversing the adjectives of a statement I made at the 2004 Republican National Convention.

Savage and Moran alternated wearing a little Bluetooth earpiece to hear commands from their director, who was reading viewer comments from a screen.

"Aaron says you have a great body," the director said to Moran.

"Thanks, Aaron," said Moran around a blue dildo.

Moran and Savage discussed better-paying affiliate programs as they filled out their paperwork. "I used to have a webcam on my website," Moran said, "but it was all typing."

After the first hour we all took a break and ate Chinese food. I didn't need a break. I wasn't tired. I was raring to go.

When the break ended, Savage and Moran got back in their clothes to start another session during which they would slowly peel them off again. All the action took place on a small leopard-print couch against a heavy red curtain.

This continued for three hours, during which time Moran's high heel fell off once. Like a pro, she put it right back on.
