Porn Valley Dispatch: The Opening of Lux Kassidy

Lux Kassidy is Vivid's newest contract performer. She performs only with women (or in Porn Valley parlance, "G/G only"), and has thus far acted with only two of them. In her life.

"I kissed a couple of girls when I was drunk," she said, "but I never hooked up with any of them."

So yesterday and today, in front of the cameras capturing her debut movie for Vivid, she got naked and amiable with women for the first and second times, ever. More Lux Kassidy after the gap.

"That's sort of like driving the Ferrari without your learner's permit," I suggested.

"I knew Samantha Ryan beforehand," Kassidy said of her first partner in her first Sapphic interlude in her first porn movie, "but I was still freaking out on Sunday because I hadn't done this before. But when the cameras started rolling we really got into it."

"Did you get any direction?" I asked.

"'Move your arm' or 'tilt your head'," she said, "but nothing got me out of my rhythm."

Lux Kassidy took her name from "The Virgin Suicides"' Lux Lisbon (played by Kirsten Dunst in the movie) and Jodi Lyn O'Keefe's character, Cassidy Bridges, in the 1996-2002 Don Johnson cop drama "Nash Bridges".

"That's a really old show," she pointed out.

Prior to Lux Kassidy becoming Vivid's Lux Kassidy two months ago, she was a member of the Swedish Drinking Team in Broken Lizard's Warner Bros. movie "Beerfest", now in post-production.

The Vivid movie is, according to its director, B. Skow, "A day in the life of Lux Kassidy." It is being shot reality-style "and silly," he said, "so we can present Lux as a real, fun person" before her bigger budget features cast her in the more brooding, inaccessible light particular to the way many big contract stars are portrayed.

Also in the Vivid movie were Missy Monroe and Chloe Dior, with whom Kassidy shot her second G/G scene this afternoon. Kassidy and I stood by the pool of a rented house and watched Monroe being professionally banged by a bruiser named Christian.

"I liked being smacked with huge bamboo poles so I can really feel it," the delightful Monroe said to Christian, who filed that information away.

Kassidy's Vivid contract calls for six movies a year along with personal appearances and signings. I mentioned that G/G Only was porn's gateway drug to the more horrifying B/G, B/B/G, anal, gangbang, ATM, ATOGM, and bukkake. Could she ever see herself doing those things?

"My boyfriend wouldn't be down with that," she said "And gaping assholes make me sick."
