What if they held an art show and no one complained? That seems to the trouble, oddly enough, with the Lactation Station Breast Milk Bar, a performance piece by artist Jess Dobkin, where audience members will be invited to sample human breast milk. Since she got a grant from the Canadian government, the whole thing seems tailor made to ruffle the stuffed shirts, but no one up in Great White North seems all that upset by it. When even conservative lawmakers are saying, "I think we should be funding cultural endeavours that actually draw an audience, that people are actually interested in," you know something is amiss. What kind of bizarro world of cultural tolerance are those Canucks running up there?
