It's become a cliché, but with Jenna Jameson a household name and Paris Hilton a star thanks to a night vision camcorder, it's hard to deny that porn really has become mainstream. So it isn't exactly shocking to see a reporter for the Denver Post create a new series that takes an in-depth look at the porn industry's influence on our world. It's refreshing, however, to see that reporter take the issue seriously without the "tsk-tsk" moralizing or the "think of the children" hysteria that is still all too common when talking about sex in America, even if he did tag his project with awful title "Pornopolis." Let's hope that little catchphrase is the one thing that doesn't manage to cross over.
