Fetish/Fashion by Tani Atsushi

Despite the fact that their subject matter often includes things like bondage pumps, rubber hoods, casts, crutches, and scary looking medical implements, many of Tani Atsushi's photographs wouldn't look out of place in a glossy fashion magazine or highbrow coffee table art book—though we don't think we'll be seeing any lingerie-clad models in matching neck- and leg brace ensembles in the pages of Vogue anytime soon (especially now that Helmut Newton is no longer with us). Come to think of it, though, why shouldn't fashion magazines start featuring more things like shiny steel forceps and thigh-high latex boots on their pages? Someone get Anna Wintour on the phone for us stat!
