While it's true that female superheroes tend to be drawn with impossibly curvaceous figures, the fact that almost all comic book artists are men is not the reason why. (Well, not the only reason.) For starters, they're super heroes—so it's only natural that they have super measurements, right? She's Wonder Woman, not Flat Chested Girl Next Door Woman! Secondly, can you think of a more effective crime fighting weapon than a killer body? Who can escape to their hideout when they're too busy ogling a girl in a skin tight, star-spangled swimsuit? Artist Adam Hughes gets that, and that's how his covers for Wonder Woman, Catwoman, Lara Croft, and other fantasy babes put the majesty and awe—and a whole lot of sexiness—back into hero worship. They almost make us want to take up a life of crime just for a chance to get tied up in that golden lasso.
