Portraits by Todd Hido

The art of classic portraiture may be overlooked in these days of digitally enhanced amputee still lifes and high speed blowjobs. But if there's one thing that captures that timeless poignancy of the human condition on the opposite side of a camera lens, it's boobs—like the ones you'll see in Bay Area-based artist Todd Hido's intimate portraits. Not to say that Hido's portraits of streetwise-looking young women in anonymous hotel rooms aren't totally compelling and masterful in their own right, because they are. We just think all portraits would be nicer, and Sears would get a total shot in the arm from a business standpoint, if nips were as common in these types of pictures as blue department store backgrounds.
