Alison Brie Felt “Free and Empowered” While Nude

Does This Mean More Alison Brie Nudity Is on the Way?

Probably one of the best moments of 2017 for each and every single one of us was Alison Brie going topless in GLOW (2017). Sure, it is a pretty great show, and I know we are all looking forward to season two, but mostly we are hoping Alison Brie will go topless again - this time in more than one episode. And I would say that the odds are pretty good because Alison Brie told Entertainment Weekly she felt the experience was "freeing and empowering." I think we all would agree.

Yes, it would seem that Alison Brie didn't have any problems with stripping down for this show. As she put it:

"Very early on in auditioning it was a case of, ‘Don’t come to any more auditions unless you’re comfortable with nudity, because it is a part of the show.’ It was a deal-breaker, for sure," Brie recalls. "At that time, I just wanted to be on the show so much that I really didn’t care. It was important that the show be a realistic portrayal of life in the way people live and the way they have sex. And also that our show be about every aspect of women’s bodies, and women not being ashamed of their bodies."

She notes, "We’re not being shot in a way that’s over-sexualizing us, or exploiting us. I found it very freeing and empowering, and I’m so glad that I did it.”

Brie added that the workouts for the show gave her a new appreciation for her body.

"It’s not just, ‘Oh, we got in amazing shape for this show, so I feel great.’ It was more about learning to use our bodies in this totally different way. It really changed the way I felt about my body. It felt so empowering and exciting, and it proved that we were capable of so much more than we expected," she says of her body transformation. "GLOW is such a body-positive show; all of the women on it feel really comfortable in their bodies, and that is such a healthy thing to be surrounded by."

I didn't know it was possible to appreciate Alison Brie's body any more than we already did, but I guess that's the case. I know I sure as hell appreciate Alison Brie's body. I'm looking forward to appreciating it again when GLOW returns. Right now there isn't a date set for the premiere, but it will be some time in 2018. We'll be keeping an eye out.
