What did you enjoy most about your role in "Confessions of a Sinful Nun"? Do you have anything in common with Mother Superior?

"I enjoyed playing an authority figure, the production quality, the story and the passion for the project embodied by the director. As it happens, my parents were Zen priests for over 40 years and I grew up in, and around, Zen temples in the San Francisco Bay Area. My mother was Abbess for seven years, the Zen equivalent of a Mother Superior. I just channeled her."

Were you raised with a religious education? Is organized religion something that has been an active part of your life?

"My family was a non-practicing blend of a father raised Dutch Reform and a mother who was Jewish, though secular (non-practicing). I received no formal religious training at all, though philosophical discussions about the Big Issues of Life were very common. When I was ten, my parents began to study Zen and they continued to do so for 46+ years, until their deaths. Zen is the religion with which I'm most comfortable and familiar. My oldest sibling is not religious and my middle siblings are observant Jews."

What do you think of the fetish for nuns that is out there in the world? What do you love most about nuns?

"It's well-documented that nunneries in the past were full of women who had no place to go, or were trouble-makers sent by their families, or widows, or women choosing a life of the veil over imprisonment or death. Going back over a thousand years there have been stories of debauched nuns. So, the idea of 'sexy nuns' is not weird in any way. It's only more recently that women had true choice in whether or not to become a nun. As for the fetish, it's an extension of the all-girls boarding school: secrets! emotion! crushes! abuse of power by the Mother Superior! I love nuns because my mother was one, as were most of her friends."

How was being directed by Ricky Greenwood?

"Lovely. It's always a refreshing change to be directed by someone who really gives a damn about the final movie. I'd do it again in a heartbeat."

What did you like most about your scene with Mona Wales? She is quite the girl/girl performer, isn't she?

"I love Mona! She's smart, sexy, fully committed to the scene, can have sex in character. She's also politically active, kind, fun, and everything you'd want in a friend."

I love the broken, beautiful relationship between sister Mona and Mother Superior. What did you draw from to create your side of that performance?

"I drew on my life experience of having things long buried/denied/ignored/thwarted eventually erupt in at the most inopportune time and/or place. We didn't talk about what had gone on between us years ago. It just became clear that something had gone down that had not been resolved."

You have done a lot of great work for Sweetheart Video. What do you think about the company brings out such excellent lesbian sexual performances?

"The company's dedication to quality all-girl movies is refreshing. They only hire women who actually like lesbian sex for real, which is great."

What is the best piece of advice you have on how to pleasure a woman sexually?

"Besides reading up on women's sexual anatomy, ("A Woman's Anatomy of Arousal," by Cheri Winston, is essential reading) and basic skills (I've done many teaching videos on that topic and "Girl Sex 101," by Allison Moon, is excellent), HOW one approaches the idea of pleasure is important. Always, without fail, I treat each vulva with which I come into contact with reverence, awe, delight, happiness, respect and patience. A woman knows if her body is being acted upon, as an object, or interacted with, as an individual. Once we get our egos out of the way, women's pleasure is not rocket science. I could go on forever about this. It's very simple. Not always easy, but simple."
