Paul Roustan’s Art Is a Great Body of Work

AMATEUR

A Work of Art on a Work of Art

The nude female form is the single greatest work of art ever. But have you wondered what would have happened if you took the female nude and instead of making it the subject of your art, you made the female nude your canvas? Artist Paul Roustan has done just. He doesn't paint butts, he paints on butts, and the results are pretty awesome.

Even if you don't consider yourself an art lover, odds are you are going to love Paul Roustan's work. When you combine naked women with paint, the results are going to speak for themselves. Yes, Paul Roustan found his love for painting on people nude women and never looked back.

"I did my first body painting out of curiosity for a magazine in Boston. I had no idea I would become so fascinated with painting on skin," Roustan tells Maxim. "But, after the first one, I became obsessed and haven't stopped."

"There is something special about painting a person, seeing your work come to life: dance, breathe, and move," Roustan added. "It makes me appreciate my artwork as if someone else did it, effectively silencing my self-critic."

"Whenever I go back to traditional canvases, I find myself extremely bored."

To be honest, I'm not surprised in the least that Paul Roustan would be bored painting on a canvas. That's like going from eating steak to eating canvas; no one wants to do that. Though, I am curious to know if Paul Roustan gets a gallery show, how would that work? I mean, pictures of these body paints are cool and all, but I would think the best way to experience this butt art is on a live model.
