Porn as Art: A ‘Public Submission’ Review

One of my favorite things to do at work is pick out lovely amateur videos for you guys to watch, as most of it is homemade and showcases such a wide variety of kinks, fetishes, genres, and sex acts. When it comes to getting off, I go for the homemade stuff 9 times of out of 10.

On the very opposite end of the spectrum, though, is my deep love for high quality porn that rivals box office cinema in nature. And as I've said before, one of my favorite pornographers who pulls this off (and has been showcased in mainstream film) is Erika Lust. X Confessions Vol. 7 came out recently, and it's possibly even more brilliant than the last edition. Most people can agree this kind of porn is beautiful and has an emotional depth the porn world isn't exactly known for - but the most common response I get when I introduce people to these kinds of scenes is one of: "Well, it's great, but I don't think I'd ever masturbate to it." 

That's a valid point. As massive a fangirl I may be, I can understand that the exposition takes a while to build, and the aesthetics are poetic, but that doesn't always translate to the kind of video you want to pull up and jerk it to after a long day at work. (I have absolutely used the X Confession series for that reason, but mostly on lazy Sunday mornings when I don't have to be anywhere to do anything for hours.) But here's the thing: Porn isn't just for masturbating. In fact, when I started watching in my teens, that wasn't what I used it for at all. 

As a female, my intro to porn didn't come quite as early as it may have for many of you men, but speaking to my lifelong love of sex scenes in mainstream movies, I can confirm that I loved watching it as soon as I knew how. Some of what I was looking for was knowledge; I wanted to watch the muscle movements of people having real-life sex so that I might be able to recreate that in my future sex life. But most of it was really just to watch - take it in, feel whatever emotions I may feel, whether that was arousal or awe or appreciation. 

It's fun. It gives you new ideas for your own sex life. It expands your mind. It gets you turned on. (I, personally, like to have sex with my actual partner after watching scenes like this one). I love watching porn for porn's sake, and I especially love watching scenes like this. After all, we watch everything else on TV or in the movies - is watching sex with no end game such a horrible idea? I think not, and I encourage all you lovely Fleshlings to give videos like this one a look if you haven't yet sought to experience your porno in new ways. 

This particular scene, called "Public Submission" is gorgeous and hot, and showcases these performers talents in totally new ways. It's one of my favorite X Confessions as of late, and as many of you know, I watch them all religiously. It features Mickey Mod, Maria Agrado, and the performing duo Jowy and Eze (a real life couple that stars together in many films). Here's the confession that inspired the film:  

"I start by blindfolding her . . . then the clothes come off. She is tied to larger rocks and teased. We can hear hikers only a few feet below us, but they can not see us. The teasing continues with lots of moans and a few yelps from being spanked. I suddenly looked up from some massaging when I noticed two hikers watching.
