China to Crack Down on Eating a Banana While Live Streaming

null

Is the Internet All About "Suggestive" Things?

I think we all know that China has some pretty brutal rules when it comes to censorship of all things, especially the internet. But now the Ministry of Culture has ruled that eating a banana is too inappropriate for someone to live stream on the internet.

Yep, you heard me right. You can’t eat a banana because it’s too suggestive and god forbid anyone suggest anything on the internet. That’s kind of what the internet was invented for: boobs and suggestive things.

"The move is the authorities' latest attempt to clamp down on 'inappropriate and erotic' online content, state-controlled CCTV reports. In April, the Ministry of Culture announced it was investigating a number of popular live-streaming platforms for allegedly hosting pornographic or violent content that 'harms social morality.'"

Of course, this hasn’t really slowed people down from live streaming their seductive snacking habits. As you would expect, the moment someone tells you you can’t watch something online, everyone goes and watches it online. And for those performing, well, they aren’t really sure how this law will be enforced so they are just going to go on eating. Some are even claiming that they will move on from bananas to other phallic-shaped fruits and vegetables.

I don’t really have too much to else to say about this one, other than I am glad I live in country where I can watch someone eat a banana on basic cable. USA! USA! USA! USA!
