Ten Outfuckingstanding AVN Award Winning Releases You Need to See

The AVN Awards are this Saturday night at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and will be hosted by Anikka Albrite and new AVN Hall of Famer Joanna Angel. It is a special, sexy night dedicated to celebrating porn and the best that the adult entertainment industry has to offer. It is the kind of thing that if you are a porn fan, you should try to attend one once in your lifetime. There are always memorable moments and there is something about being part of an audience that includes all of your favorite porn stars that can't be replicated. It is special as fuck.

The movies here in this list all won big AVN Awards and definitely deserve the honor/honors they received. If you are not in Vegas this weekend with tickets to the show, give yourself some time with some of the best of the best that I have pulled from 32 years of the show.

Vivid Entertainment's "Blame It On Ginger"

Ginger Lynn was the first ever Vivid Girl, and this star showcase, directed by the late and truly great Henri Pachard, won Best Video Feature at the AVN Awards back in 1987. It is a parody of the film "Blame It On Rio", and while the plot is a bit muddled, the sex is fucking hot and I love Lynn's scene in this with Jamie Gillis.

VCA's "The Catwoman"

VCA no longer exists—they were bought out by Hustler years ago—but back in 1989, John Leslie was closing up his performing career and solidifying himself as a director with this moody, hot story that obsesses about the idea that a woman is sexier the more feline she gets. Leslie won Best Director for this and this was 1989's Best Video Feature.

Caballero's "Night Trips" 

This is AVN's best adult feature of all time and in 1990, it took the AVN Award for Best Video Feature. Tori Welles is incandescent in this Andrew Blake video about a woman's erotic dreams being documented as she is being studied at a sleep research center.

VCA's "Latex"

This Michael Ninn feature was a smash hit back in 1996—this gorgeously art-directed production won AVN's Best Video Feature, Best Renting and Best Selling Title of the Year, Best Director for Ninn and Best Actor for Jon Dough. Sunset Thomas was in her absolute prime in this and the vignettes in this sci-fi themed feature are hot as hell.

Evil Angel's "The Fashionistas"

This erotic masterpiece starring Belladonna and Rocco Siffredi is, to date, AVN Hall-of-Famer John Staglinao's masterwork. It won ten AVN Awards in 2003, including Best Film and there is really nothing like it in the world. It is exhaustingly good and long and is every erotic expression of fashion that you have ever dreamed about and more. It is truly an experience.

Vivid's "Bella Loves Jenna"

OK, first off, this fucking masterpiece starring Belladonna and Jenna Jameson is on sale in our store for under EIGHT DOLLARS for the DVD. You really oughta own this if you are a fan of either one of these, who were both giving their complete A game in this Best Video Feature in 2005. AVN considers it it to be one of the best adult features of all time, and it is a swirling, giffy ode to the power of these two women.

Digital Playground's "Pirates"

This high-budget feature starring Digital Playground contract stars Jesse Jane and Teagan Presley and former Vivid Girl Janine in a rollicking feature that won a bunch of AVN Awards at the 2006 show. It is shot with true mainstream Hollywood skill and it and the sequel to it are erotic masterpieces.

Wicked Pictures' "Speed" 

This three-hour epic from director Brad Armstrong was 2010's Best Video Feature and it has a ton of amazing sex in it, including jessica drake doing a fabulous anal and double penetration scene. It is one fantastic, sexy ode to motorcycle racing and the hot bodies who risk it all for the rush of feeling that speed and the pure thrill of being alive. I love this one.

Hard X's "Anikka" 

This star showcase won the AVN Award for 2013's Best Star Showcase, and it is very much a movie that I see a lot of people try to duplicate in their own star showcases, but when you have a woman like Anikka Albrite as the star with Mason shooting and directing and getting every bit of Albrite's beauty on the screen, well, it's a special thing. I really believe that fans will be watching this one for a very long time.

New Sensations' "The Submission of Emma Marx"

This won Best BDSM Release in 2012, but it was more than your average bondage fare. Jacky St. James brilliantly wrote and directed a story of a woman discovering her sexual self and finding out what it really means to give yourself to someone. Penny Pax is brilliant in the title role and she inspires the viewer to ask questions about their own desires and take themselves further in their own lives. It's really, really good...
