Did you know that sperm banks don’t really have to supply you with porn? Yeah, it’s true, but most of them are pretty nice and want to give you a helping hand (pun fully intended). But did you ever wonder how they get the porn? Well, wonder no more. They buy it, just like everyone else.  

According to an article by Zach Schwartz from Vice (link below), most places simply go out and buy their porn. Take Teresa Randolph from New York Fertility Services (which is not a sperm bank), she and her husband stock their porn collection themselves.  

"Obviously, you have to stock the collection room with pornographic material, because men need inspiration," she said. "So you have to go to a porn shop to buy these materials. [We don't ask] employees to buy porn, because that might be considered sexual harassment. My husband and I own the practice, so we do it ourselves."  

Though most places still go old fashion with their porn, DVDs and magazines, Manhattan Cryobank is all internet porn. Other than the advancements in technology, Manhattan Cryobank noted that DVDs kept getting scratched and they also kept getting stolen. I do hope the thievery was noted in their donation file. Who wants sperm from a thief?

Many sperm banks and sperm collection groups are trying to get diverse when it comes to their porn. No more vanilla straight porn, they are trying to branch out to make sure all their clients can find something to help them jerk off into a plastic cup. Though it should be noted that sperm banks are not porn stores or the internet for that matter, they aren’t there to fulfill your every porn viewing fantasy. As Dr. Joel Batzofin, the doctor and co-owner at New York Fertility Services, noted:  

"What are we?" He asked rhetorically. "We're vanilla ice-cream. Men on men, women on women, two on one—it's all fine. But don't come here asking us to bring you tapes of animals. And all this crap like scat or whatever you call that. Sorry, we're not going to do that!"  

"Why must we put that in there? If that's what it takes to get you to produce, go somewhere else, get your sample and bring it here and we'll analyze it for you."  

So there you have it. It kind of takes the magic out of porn in a sperm bank. There’s no magical porn fairy or porn trolls who stock the rooms with porn. They are just like all of us, they put their pants on one leg at a time and buy their porn at a store or off the internet.
