As a tie-in to promote the upcoming Valentine's Day release of the muchly anticipated and very hyped release of the movie version of E.L. James' "Fifty Shades of Grey", OPI Cosmetics--known primarily for their exceptional quality nail polish--has just released a line of limited edition shades of nail polish.
Squee! OK, I am such a nail geek. I get my nails done weekly and it is, well, never that I don't have my digits done with some shade of of something from OPI. The polishes are top-quality and chip-resistant and well, they have a flair for naming shades. As Mr. Kingstown knows well, I love to laugh and the puns they often use are chortle-worthy. Their number one selling shade is "I'm Not Really A Waitress', a rich, shimmering red with a name that refers to a stripper's wad of dollar bills. I absolutely adore that OPI has colors out with this movie to promote more of their sex-positive nail paint attitude and to get women to head to the movie theatres and then go home and try out some BDSM-lite at home.
The shades in this line include My Silk Tie ("a silky, gleaming silver"), Romantically Involved (a "luscious creme red"), Dark Side of the Mood (a "brooding, stormy charcoal"), Shine For Me (a "shimmering silver with blue sparkle") , Cement The Deal (a "stony, cool gray") and Embrace The Gray (a "chic, moody gray creme).
I really like these colors and I have My Silk Tie on my fingernails and toenails right now. It definitely has a silky look to it. You can pick up the individual bottles of the polish at pretty much any beauty supply store but I would recommend doing what my husband did. He picked this mini-set for me which has small bottles of all of the shades in the line and really, I have never used a whole bottle of any polish ever. It's under eighteen bucks and would make a great addition to any Valentine's Day gift you have planned for your lady fair.
