It's tough enough for an actress to get work, but to land major roles on two of the most popular shows around is quite the feat, and Madeline Brewer is one of the lucky few to pull it off. Madeline appeared on the first season the popular Netflix series Orange is the New Black, before scoring the lead role on the second season of their horror hit Hemlock Grove. Now Madeline's chatting about the differences between the two shows, namely when it comes to the ever-present sex on both.
In an interview with Zap2it (link below), Madeline has some words about how different sex is treated on the two series.
"'Orange Is the New Black,' their love scenes are much more raw because they need to be, because it's like you're hiding," Brewer tells Zap2it. "But this is very stylized and very tasteful, I think. It's not gratuitous in any way. I feel it only just supports the storyline."
She also demonstrates how her first sex scene on Hemlock Grove revealed a lot about her character beyond just, you know, her tits.
"Miranda's on top, and that's showing that Miranda has power over these two in some way. It's showing Peter's vulnerability, and also Roman letting his guard down a little bit and trusting someone. Although it is love scenes and nudity and blah blah blah, it is much deeper than that, and it's representative of something much deeper than that."
Sure thing. This is the show where the baby has a cabbage for a head and a guy survives having a werewolf rip his face off right? Glad there's something deep happening.
