Not even five years into her porn career, Allie Haze has made a name for herself as one of the premier performers, particularly in the world of parody porn. No longer a niche market, parody porn has exploded, and Allie right along with it. Allie played Princess Leia in Star Wars XXX, a Fembot in Austin Powers XXX, Rogue in Wolverine XXX, and appeared in, among others, Saturday Night Fever XXX, Clerks XXX, and even Welcome Back Kotter XXX! She also has a highly successful line of videos from director B. Skow: Allie Haze: I Love Sex, Allie Haze: Peep Show, and a number of others branded especially for her. In 2010, she got the break of a lifetime when she was selected to play Emmanuelle in seven films that would continue the legendary erotic series. Her latest project hasn't been officially announced yet, but we got an exclusive scoop straight from Allie that should definitely get her fans excited! Read on for our exclusive interview with the ultimate girl next door, Allie Haze!
Tucker Bankshot: When did you first become aware of the adult industry, and did that coincide with you realizing that it was something you wanted to do for a living, or were those two separate moments?
Allie Haze: I didn't even become aware of it until I thought about doing it actually, which didn't happen until I was about 22. Originally I thought about just doing webcam, and then I realized that there was more to it. I was actually originally getting started as a safe, fun way to hook up with chicks, because I was a lesbian before I was a bisexual, and during the time that I was bisexual I found it very hard to just find women that I could hit on at a bar and they'd be willing to come home and have sex with me. Normally they just wanted to make out with me at a bar to impress other men, and I'd take them home and they'd be freaked out by the fact that I tried to have sex with them. (Laughs)
So I started to get frustrated with that, and I mentioned it to a couple of friends and they were like, "why don't you do porn or something," and I was like "what?" I'd never even watched it, I'd maybe seen a dirty magazine or two, but that was about it. It wasn't something that was a very relevant thing to me. I was married from the time I was 18 until I was twenty, I was raised in a very religious family, so it wasn't even something that had crossed my mind.
TB: You just mentioned that you had started out with the intention of being a webcam model, but very quickly went into adult films. What made you take that leap?
AH: I actually didn't do a single cam show (laughs), to be honest with you. I picked the name, which was just Allie because it was at the beginning of the alphabet and webcam models are organized alphabetically. Before I even did my first show, I did some interviews with some agents and stuff like that and I met them and I was like, "I think I can do this, this sounds kind of fun." I was still in college, I was going to college to be a firefighter, so it's not something that I thought was going to my career, I figured I'm still going to college, and this is just something I can do on the side, for fun, and I can drive into LA every now and then, and shoot some scenes, it'll be fun.
So the first time I shot a scene I was like, "All right, this is really cool." Everybody was super nice, the atmosphere was great, everybody was just having fun and it was a good time, and I just never turned back. I shot girl/girl only for about six months, and then Reality Kings came to me and they were like, "we kind of want you to shoot boy/girl, we think you'd be great at it, is that something you've ever thought about?" And I was like, "no, I'm kind of just doing this to get my own rocks off, and get my fix in about my women." And they were like, "well, think about it," and I thought about it for a little bit and then I thought, "do I mind this being on camera? Do I care?" and I don't think I do, I'm generally open sexually, generally speaking, and I was like, "all right, let's do this!"
So that was my first boy/girl and since then I've had the honor of being a contract girl for one of the biggest studios, I just got named January Penthouse Pet, so it's definitely been a hell of a ride!
TB: Wow, congratulations!
AH: Yeah, thank you. My five year anniversary in the business is in June!
TB: You played Princess Leia in Star Wars XXX. Can you talk about that experience, and all of the fan boy fantasies you fulfilled by doing that?
AH: (Laughs) That movie was shot and released a couple of years ago, and it's still the talk of the town. It's definitely something that people still like to say, "Oh my gosh, I can't believe there's a Star Wars XXX movie!" I'm very much a sci-fi geek and I'm just a geek in general, and I'm a HUGE Harrison Ford fan. So along with Indiana Jones came Star Wars, also, which was something that I watched when I was younger. And it was so cool to be able to be picked for that role. It was long days, obviously, it was a lot to live up to, because Carrie Fisher was so amazing in that role and made movie after movie.
So I definitely did a lot of research, and I guess I didn't realize how big of an impact, and how many of those geeky fantasies I was fulfilling until it came out, and I was like, "Oh wow, this is really crazy," you know? It was amazing to me that so many people wanted to see that, you know what I mean, that wanted to see Star Wars in that light. It's really crazy. That whole world is really crazy, and I'm super excited to be a part of it, and that's something that will go down in history.
TB: You won your first AVN Award the first year you were nominated. Do you think that put added pressure on you to continue to work at a high level?
AH: Definitely, especially because the award that I won was so different from my image. You know, I was very much the cute and cuddly girl next door, and that's my image, and what I won was most outrageous sex scene. And I only shot a few of those, quote unquote "crazy scenes," here and there with some of my favorite people, performers that I was comfortable with, directors that I was comfortable with, and things like that. So Belladonna is amazing and I'm so glad that I got to work with her, and be directed by her, and Amy Brooke and Adrianna Nicole are two amazing anal women, and so you throw me in there who just looks to innocent to be anywhere, and it was just a crazy and outrageous scene.
But it definitely set a bar for me, I believe, to be this crazy and outrageous person, and I ended up being a parody girl and a actress, and doing couples based porno movies and things like that. That's why I'm really excited to release this movie with Hard X (ed. Allie is referring to a new film she's shooting with Mason.) It's an all Gonzo movie starring me, and on top of that, instead of just releasing one scene, it's going to be an all anal. The WHOLE MOVIE is going to be that!
My theory was, in my brain, that when girls release their first scene, whether it's DP or something, I feel like they release one scene of it, in one movie. To me, I've been waiting so long to do a movie like this, physically and mentally, just all of it, I've been waiting a very long time. So I thought, well that's like sending someone a box of chocolates and then telling them that they only get to eat one chocolate. So I figured, if we're gonna do this, let's give the fans a whole movie of anal. Let's not just do one scene, let's make a whole movie of anal, let's release it as that! So I'm really excited.
Only bits and pieces of it have leaked out. We still don't have a release date, we still don't have a title, but we let it leak out that we were shooting it, and the response has been AMAZING! I mean, we haven't even put the release out that it's all anal. I have permission to say it you today, but there is going to be a release that comes out that says that it's an all anal movie, but that was not what the first release was. We just wanted to put something out there that was like, "hey, guess what we're shooting!" so now we're going to hit them with, "Holy crap! This is what you have to look forward to!"
TB: What do you think is the hottest scene you've done? Or maybe Top 3, if you have a hard time narrowing it down.
AH: Well (laughs), one of them is going to be something that's in this movie, which I can't talk about because that hasn't been released! But if I had to pick three separate ones, I would have to say that one of my favorites was a girl/girl/girl in Remy 2, with me, Remy and Maddy O'Reilly, that was definitely a lot of fun!
One of my next favorite ones would have to be Bush with Manuel Ferrara.
And the third would have to be a boy/girl in a really cool, old fashioned car with Tommy Pistol, and that's in Allie Haze: I Love Sex.
TB: You know, it's funny I have not talked to a single female performer yet that has not mentioned a scene with Manuel as one of their hottest scenes. He seems to come up quite a bit.
AH: Yeah, and you're not the first one to say that most girls say that. It's just, he's got a combination of things, he's got a great member. For me, it's a height thing, because I'm a very tall woman, and some of the male performers are exactly my height, so there are some positions we can't do because they're not taller, and Manuel, generally speaking, is taller than almost every woman in the business. And he has that stamina where he can just last, and last, and last, and his goal is to tire you out, you know what I mean, so it's like a fun little battle that you play.
TB: Again, you touched on this a bit earlier, but you were married to a preacher when you were 18. What was that experience like for you and how did it shape you?
AH: Well, like I said, I grew up religious, so it was kind of just, you know, the way the cookie was supposed to crumble. It was just how I kind of thought in my head that things were supposed to be, and it was definitely an interesting experience. For one, religion or no religion, we were definitely way too young to get married (Laughs), just saying that right off the bat. But it's definitely an experience and a time in my life that shaped me into the woman that I am today, you know, I still do believe, I am a believer, which is my answer when most people ask me. It definitely taught me a lot of patience and perseverance in my life, but it's definitely something I would never change about my life, it's something I'd never take back.
TB: You've done Star Wars & Clerks porn parodies… Do you really want to fuck Kevin Smith?
AH: (Laughs) You know what's funny is I would loooove to do a freakin' podcast with that man, I think it'd be hilarious! I've actually been to a couple of his live podcasts. I just find him really intriguing, his humor's really interesting, he seems to be a very open minded character, obviously, with the scripts that he's done and the different things that he's said over the years. He just seems like my kind of guy. I grew up tomboyish. Very, very tomboyish. I was always one of the guys hanging out with the boys, rolling in the mud, and he just reminds me very much of those guys that I grew up with, and I think he's got great conversation, great banter, and it's actually just funny that I've fallen into two roles of things that he's done. That's funny, that kind of just happened, you know (laughs). So maybe it's meant to be that we meet each other one day!
TB: You were in Lesbian Seductions 31 & 33, but not 32. Did their reluctance to use you in 32 give you pause in accepting a role in 33?
AH: No, I don't even know how that all played out, it's just, I think, the way the scripts are written. I just think that for, whatever reason, they wanted to shine a light on a couple of the other characters, so that way they can bring me back, you know. Like you said, if you put me in one, and I'm not in the next one, then there's demand to for me to be in the third one, so it's a good way for them to keep the fans wanting more.
TB: (Laughing) Okay, that was really kind of a joke question, sorry, I wasn't being serious.
AH: Oh, okay! (Laughs) No, it's actually, that's so funny though, because when I get those scripts, there is so much thought process put in to how much these women want to cheat on the other woman, and I just think, "I'm a woman, and even I don't think this far into it, how do they write this?" (Laughs).
TB: You played Rogue in Wolverine XXX and Hawkgirl in The XXX Adventures of Hawkman & Hawkgirl. Do you have a preference in the Marvel/DC rivalry?
AH: Oh wow! No, I don't. I really don't. I love both sides, you know, elements of different characters that I've played. I like that I get the opportunity to dress up as multiple ones. Rogue is one that I'm definitely hoping that if they make another X-Men parody, they actually give Rogue a shot, not just because I played that character, but just because, in general, her character is amazing. And if you look back at the comics, she had her own comic and everything.
TB: Oh yeah, and her powers lend themselves well to porn and parody, you know?
AH: Oh definitely, there's so much funny stuff and different things that you could play off of that, you know? You could go serious with it, you could go hilarious with it, there's so many different things that you could do, so I'm really hoping that I get to do more of that. When it comes to playing porn though, as far as superpowers go, I'd definitely rather be Rogue than Hawkgirl. Hopefully nobody kills me for saying that (both laugh).
TB: What was it like to take on the mantle of Emmanuelle and become a part of such an immortal series?
AH: Oh my gosh, that was definitely intense and, I mean, we shot that in 2010 and I had just entered the business in 2009, so it was just this huge jump at the beginning of my career. I took four months off from shooting adult, because we shot six days a week for four months, and we shot seven feature films. So not only was there a lot of time and dedication, there was an over 800 page script, so there was a ton of memorization, and then, like you said, there was living up to this iconic character that just changed the whole wave of watching sexual things on TV in the 70s, it was a huge thing!
I definitely made sure that I studied a lot of the original character, when Sylvia Kristel played it. Unfortunately she's passed away now, so I never got to meet her, which is really unfortunate, I really would have loved that. But I also got picked for the role by the producer. The producer was the original producer from the 70s, it's been the same producer all the way through, which is crazy, a lot of people don't know that, and he picked me. He felt that I was the most accurate representation of our day and age of Sylvia Kristel, which was very nice, that's a really great compliment.
TB: Oh yeah, wow, that's incredibly flattering. Is there anything else you'd like your fans to know, or perhaps anyone discovering you for the first time?
AH: Yeah, I would just say that if you ever want to know anything, or ever have any questions, you want to know other material or anything like that, please find me on twitter which is just @AllieHaze. I am definitely one that likes to get out there and meet my fans, so definitely pay attention to that. I attend Exxxotica, if you're a US fan, and those are in a couple of different cities. I'm getting the opportunity to travel overseas to sign for Sexpo, which is another fan convention which is really cool, I try and get out there as much as I can.
I just started feature dancing over a year ago, so if you'd like to meet me and see me dance, please recommend me at your local club. And by the end of the summer I hope to have my site, which is going to be called Allie's Playhouse, which is going to be a free fan site, and the tagline is "The One-Stop Shop For Everything Allie Haze." It's going to have my blog, my calendar, a fan forum where the fans can talk about what they want to see. There's going to be a way to text me, and to book Skype appointments where people can call and talk to me. There's also going to be a section that is linked to my store, and I'm going to sell merchandise and movies. I'm also going to have the ability to make custom videos, so that's why my tagline is "The One Stop Shop For Everything Allie Haze!" Anything and everything you could ever want, I'm trying to give my fans the opportunity to grab a hold of those things! So be sure to look out for that!
