A Field Guide To Lou Charmelle

It's Lily LaBeau Week here at Fleshbot, so if we're going to write about anybody, it ought to be Lily's roommate, Lou Charmelle! We kid; we have non-Lily-related reasons to write about Lou, and the main one is that the more we see her and learn about her, the more questions we have about her. Finally, we're going to sit down and research this cutie with all of our Googling might!

(Truth be told, our Googling might isn't that mighty. Either that, or Lou is a secretive lady.)

Lou Charmelle is a beautiful young woman (but you already knew that) of French-Tunisian origin and she was born October 8, 1983. She entered the adult industry in 2008 when she and her then-roommate went to visit Eropolis, a French erotic trade show. The roomie noticed a sign that said "searching for models" at one of the booths, and he pushed Lou towards it; she ended up speaking with famous porn director Fabien Lafait, and after a brief conversation, he invited her to shoot a scene with him. Lou did exactly that three weeks later.

As Lou recalls on her blog, Fabien paired her up with Sebastian Barrio for a movie called "Serveuses a la Carte." She says Fabien was extremely kind and helpful, Sebastian was sweet and attentive, and even though Lou was nervous about the process of fucking for film, she forgot all about the cameras. The only negative aspect of her first time was that one of her close friends was a huge Sebastian Barrio fan and went green with envy.

Lou didn't get her nickname until she had filmed her third sex scene. While hanging out with Fabien and Phil Hollyday (her third scene partner), Fabien asked the currently unnamed girl to think of a pseudonym, specifically, "a name that does not end with 'a,' telling me that it was too cliche (and he's right). After searching a while, I stopped on "Lou", catchy, sweet-sounding, and 'so cute' for foreigners." They had trouble thinking of a last name for Lou, but while the three of them were stuck in traffic, Phil's eyes landed on an advertisement for the lingerie company Lise Charmel, and he suggested it to Lou. And that's when the world first heard the soft euphony flow from the name Lou Charmelle!

She kept a pretty consistent diary, and it's awesome getting to peer inside her brain as she goes from gig to gig, meeting new people and new genitals, working with fans and famous directors, and exploring the adult industry as she explores herself. Long story short, Lou hit it big when she made "The Initiation of Lou Charmelle" for Marc Dorcel Video in 2010, and at the height of her French pornographic prestige, she started working for big companies in the United States. Now she's all over the place!

What's next for Lou Charmelle? We're not sure. She's been twice nominated for AVN's Foreign Female Performer of the Year, and we bet she'll end up winning that title before long. No matter what happens, we're going to be watching her very closely.
