It's been over a decade since "Bend Over Boyfriend" taught straight couples about the joys of pegging--and though we'll always love and cherish that classic bit of eduporn, we definitely think its time of an update. Enter Tristan Taormino's "Expert Guide to Pegging," a sexy, informative, and very fun movie that mixes great sex ed with even better porn.
Tristan Taormino's Expert Guide to Pegging

There's a lot of really wonderful stuff to say about this "Expert Guide"--it's incredibly thorough, incredibly hot, and massively successful both as education and porn--but a lot of that is stuff you can say about virtually any Expert Guide that Tristan does these days (the woman's really honed her craft over the years). What really struck me about the film, honestly, wasn't how smart or sexy it was: it was the way it presents pegging as totally normal, wonderful sex act that can be easily incorporated into anyone's bedroom antics--and, what's more, as something that's physically pleasurable for both men and their female partners.
Straight men and anal play can be a loaded topic: even if you've gotten past the baseline "Does it make me gay?" question, the topic is still fraught with issues of domination and submission, and what it means for a man to become a bend over boyfriend (which may be part and parcel of why--when it is in porn at all--pegging most often appears as part of femdom scenes). Tristan manages to bypass all of that: yes, there's a discussion of the potential D/S aspects of pegging, but overall, the act is just presented as something that can be pleasurable in a variety of ways...which, lucky for us, is also demonstrated in the film's three very different sex scenes.
Though it's hard for me to select a favorite sex scene in a film with such a stellar cast, I think the first scene, between Dylan Ryan and Wolf Hudson, might be the one I like the best (but only by the tiniest margin). Dylan and Wolf have a really comfortable vibe and great chemistry; the scene pretty much feels like what you would see if you peeked in on the two of them having sex off camera. There's a lot of communication, a lot of warm up (fingering! Rimming! Butt plugs!) before the actual pegging play (which involves three different strapons)--and, perhaps best of all, the scene doesn't end the minute Dylan withdraws her dildo from Wolf's ass. No, just as in real life, Dylan and Wolf continue to explore each other's bodies after they've explored pegging, with Wolf turning the tables and fucking Dylan, then eating her pussy, and finally kissing her.
Which I guess brings me to another point about this movie: though it's fundamentally a movie about pegging, Tristan's wonderful about showing that pegging is not a sex act that need occur in isolation from everything else. None of these scenes are nonstop butt fucking and nothing else; pegging is just one aspect of a diverse array of acts that the performers engage in...which, frankly, is how it should be.
Equally wonderful is the way that Dylan and Wolf's scene showcases the ways that pegging can be physically pleasurable for the woman as well as the man. The first strapon that Dylan uses on Wolf has a vibrator in it, she manages to come quickly while she's in his ass. Similarly, the double ended dildo that she uses next manages to give both of them pleasure--and it's a nice reminder that pegging isn't just something that women do for men, but rather an intimate experience that can be fun for all involved.
But enough about my love for Dylan and Wolf's antics: I'd be doing this movie a severe disservice if I didn't also pay tribute to the fuck styles of Jada Fire, Christian, Jiz Lee, and Mickey Mod. On their end, veteran performers Jada and Christian manage to turn in a delightfully intimate scene that really highlights the chemistry these two have together: it's a bit more straight forward than what Wolf and Dylan get up to, and there's a lot less talking, but it's very clear that both performers are super into what's going on. And I'd be remiss if I didn't give these two credit for having some of the best pre-scene interview lines about pegging: as a piece of advice for women who are feeling a bit butt shy, Jada offers that they should "Get over it! It's a part of life!...He's not afraid of your ass, why would you be afraid of his?"; on his part, Christian offers that the the women who are the best at wielding strapons are the ones who enjoy anal themselves--a nice reminder that anal play is one of those things that's able to unite us all.
Last but not least we have Jiz Lee and Mickey Mod, who--in addition to exploring pegging--throw a little genderfuckery into the mix, too. Genderqueer Jiz reveals that they enjoy the way strapon play allows them to play around with gender identity; an aspect of pegging that's showcased quite well during a segment where Jiz, deep inside Mickey's ass, discusses their desire to jizz deep inside Mickey's orifice. It's definitely different, and it's really hot--and, as with the other scenes, it's just one glorious aspect in a diverse scene that also includes shower sex, mutual masturbation, and some very enthusiastic (and highly enjoyed) cunt punching.
Tristan Taormino has made a name for herself by creating movies that pair people who want to fuck each other, and giving them the freedom to have the kind of sex they really enjoy having. By applying this model to one of the more taboo (and rarely discussed) sex acts of the world, she manages to create a film that celebrates, normalizes, and educates about pegging--all while putting forth something that's just achingly hot. Honestly, I knew I was going to like this movie even before I started watching it...but even still, I managed to be shocked by just how much I enjoyed it. If that's not the sign of a quality film, I don't know what is.
