The Non-Controversy Controversy Of Karlie Kloss’s Semi-Nude Pictures

Two days ago, Fashion Copious posted some semi-nude photos of model Karlie Kloss, along with an offhand comment about how agencies shouldn't allow their models to shoot with the photographer behind these photos. Other bloggers took this comment to mean that Fashion Copious was against Kloss's semi-nude status, and started blogging about the supposed "controversy" over these relatively tame photos.

Amusingly, Fashion Copious (who, by the by, regularly posts nude shoots that we greatly enjoy) wasn't against the nudity, but the quality of the photos—but by the time the post was amended to make that clear, it was too late. Pandora's Box had already been opened, if you will, and the nonexistent controversy had manufactured itself (even though most people who wrote about the photos mostly wrote to say that they were confused about why there was a controversy in the first place). And now we have nudie blogs linking to the photos with heavy emphasis on said "controversy"—because nothing makes some kind of boring semi-nude photos of a model you haven't heard of as fascinating as the hint that you maybe shouldn't be looking at them.

And that, friends, is how your internet sausage is made.
