We may have adored American Apparel's latest swimwear ad, but it seems that other media commentators weren't so impressed: upon seeing the ad, the Daily Mail was inspired to write a critique of the company's strategy (and boundary pushing).
Apparently, some people thing that the risque ads are responsible for the company's financial woes—and that, by not respecting a promise to "tone down" the ads, Dov Charney is putting the company's future at risk. And yet (as evidenced by the ad above) the boob-filled advertisements just keep on coming! Is Dov Charney a madman? Or is he a genius bent on transforming his ethical clothing company into some sort of hipster Playboy? We're going to vote for the latter...if only because it would be totally, totally awesome to see more photos like this in the world.
