Faraway, So “Close Up” With Angelica Heart

Sometimes porn can be shot so distractingly artfully that it loses its meaning and pushes the viewer away. Some porns make us want to say, "Just stop; I'll fuck her myself." That is how we found ourselves too "close up."

This stylish movie from Dutch pornhuis Daring makes much use of shadow to spark our mood. And that would be great if we were in the room with the juicy and exotic Angelica Heart, and we are very happy for her grave and intense scene partner, but we couldn't see a goddamn thing.

Ditto scenes with the equally tasty Lucy Lee and Aleska Diamond; they all perform for this shadowy voyeur who then ravishes them. As the camera gets closer it doesn't bother lingering on any of the parts we've been squinting at. "Close Up" is a very misleading title, therefore.

All the more tragic because the parts we did see were glorious.

If only Angelika Heart and company could show up in some mass-produced stateside parody-maybe people like me would say they didn't deliver their lines convincingly but at least we could say, under our breath at the risk of compromising decorum as we pulled our jaws from the floor at the sight of such Eastern European porno-pulchritude, "Holy shiiiiiiiit."

Maybe some sordid, ill-filmed bukkake in a room lit with fluorescents would make auteur director Koxy gag, but woe to the person trying to jerk off to this overly artful distraction.
