We're just going to say it: "The American" wasn't a good movie. It was, in fact, a painfully boring movie. But it was also a movie with Violante Placido totally naked—so we'll give it credit for that.
Yes, amidst the overlong scenes of George Clooney silently building a gun and having deep conversations with the local priest, there was some skin (and a pretty hot sex scene, to boot). Not enough skin to overcome the movie's flaws, sadly. But we still appreciate Violante Placido's effort!
