Good news, everybody: it turns out Elizabeth Hawkenson did not lose her scholarship—and she's still enrolled at ASU. The "concerned alumni" email was (as we suspected) a fake, one circulated online by 4chan...and never sent to ASU.
The Phoenix New Times has the full story, but the important take aways are:
· Backroom Casting Couch is totally scripted and fake.
· Even girls with impressive scholarships can still need money for college ($32k over 4 years is only $8k per year, which is only a drop in the bucket towards the $30k per year an out of state student pays to go to ASU).
· If you make porn—any porn—just assume that everyone is going to end up seeing it. Even your mom. Even your great-great-grandmom (they have the internet up in Heaven, you know). If you're okay with that, we salute you. If you're not, leave the porn making to the pros.
· Never believe anything you read on the internet (unless you read it on Fleshbot. We'd never lie to you.)
