The Hitachi Magic Wand has long resided at the top of the sex toy food chain—but quite a few products would like to knock it off it's perch. Like, for example, Vibratex's Mystic Wand.
Compared to the Hitachi Magic Wand, the Mystic Wand smaller, more compact, and (blessedly) cordless. It also offers more options in the way of stimulation. While the Hitachi offers a mere two settings (intense and "burn your clit off"), the Mystic Wand has three levels of vibration, as well as three pulse pattern settings. (There's also a fancy blue light that apparently tells you the vibrator is on—though given the power of the motor, I'm not sure why anyone would need the visual as well.)
But I'm sure many of you are still wondering whether the Mystic Wand packs as much of a punch as that old Hitachi standby. In terms of sheer, raw power, I'd have to say the Hitachi still wins—but the Mystic is still pretty darn powerful. Even on it's lowest setting, I kept my underwear firmly in place, at higher settings, it was overwhelming even with a cloth barrier.
I really only had one complaint about the toy: it takes 4 (four!) AA batteries to power it's motor. Granted, it does pack a wallop from batteries alone, and that kind of power doesn't come cheap...it's still a bit frustrating to have to dig up that many batteries just cause you're in the mood to get off.
