Kagney Linn Karter was honored as AVN's Best New Starlet at this year's show, capping a year (and change) of hard work, drive, and determination. She signed a thousand autographs last week. And, like a Cylon, she has a plan.

Karter burst onto the porn scene almost fully-formed. She was already a Deja Vu Showgirl of the Year (2007) and decided that porn was a field ripe for exploitation.

"I want to be as big as Jenna Jameson," Karter told me flat out. "And that means I have to be at work on time, give a little extra, and basically show up. This is a business and I can't be wasting my time."

No-nonsense words from someone so squeezable. Past winners of the Best New Starlet Award include Tera Patrick, Aurora Snow, and Violet Blue->Noname Jane.

("It amazes me how these new girls come into the business with these elaborate business plans," said Belladonna.)

The woman who spent 2009 freelance (she appeared in more than 60 scenes, according to the IAFD, and that is a conservative count) will soon begin work as an exclusive contractor of gonzo studio Zero Tolerance, for whom she has appeared in several movies.

So maybe she'll be able to take a little rest.
