Fleshbot Interviews: Tera Patrick On Sinner Takes All

EDITORIAL FEATURES

If it's January 5th (and it is), then it must be the day that Tera Patrick's book, Sinner Takes All is out in stores. But what, pray tell, is the book about? We decided to ask Tera herself.

Dying to know what she said? Click through the gallery to read our interview. And if you're feeling inspired to read the book, it's available on Amazon.

Last but not least: if you're in Las Vegas this weekend, stop by the Adult Entertainment Expo and say hi to Tera—she'll be signing on the main floor from 2-3pm on Friday and Saturday.

Fleshbot: So tell me about your book.
Tera Patrick: My book is called Sinner Takes All. It's a biography, and it starts from childhood to present day, and it talks about everything. It was a book that I wrote with an author named Carrie Borzillo, who wrote a very fabulous book that I contributed to, Cherry Bomb.

I would say my book is – it's my life story, [but] I hope it's inspiring. I hope people find it inspiring and I hope people find it useful. It's got lots of cool advice...and it's got a foreward by Margaret Cho, who's my favorite comedian and one of my most favorite people on the planet. She's another Asian-American girl who's really conquered the industry—not the porn industry, but the mainstream industry in comedy. And you know, we're both Asian, we have that in common (laughs).

Are there any shocking revelations? Is there anything people will be surprised by?
I've been doing interviews for the book and a lot of people that have been interviewing me tell me, "Oh my gosh, I didn't know that about you." And I'm like, "Well, what didn't you know about me?" And they're like, "Well, I didn't know you had sex with that person, I didn't know that you were so sexual, I didn't know that you had been abused as a child." The details of my divorce are in the book...in the afterword. I actually got divorced at the very, very tail end of writing the book, so I do talk about my divorce. And I think that there—I don't know if it'll be shocking to people, but I think it'll be interesting to people to find out who I really am and where I really came from.

So it's a look at you and who you are, and getting to know Tera Patrick—rather than say, a sordid tell-all.
Yeah. It's a tell-all in the sense to where I tell all about my life but...I haven't had any huge scandals in my life. Which I am grateful for, but that makes good television and that makes a good story. But one thing I do talk about in there is that I did try to kill myself in 2003. I had a very, very hard year that year and I almost ended my life. I was going through a terrible lawsuit with the video company that I was in litigation with, and, you know, it was a very, very rough period of my life and that was actually when I met my husband at the time. So, I talk about that.

Is there anything else that my readers should know about?
I would just like to tell all my fans that I love them very much and thank you for supporting me for the last ten years. And I promise bigger and better things to come. And I love you all.
