Why “Jersey Shore XXX”‘s Taryn Thomas Isn’t A One-Hit Wonder

Taryn Thomas, star of/mastermind behind "Jersey Shore XXX" was kind enough to stop by Fleshbot HQ for a chat about life, porn, and big plans regarding a certain stretch of seaside property situated on the Atlantic coast of New Jersey.

Much has changed since we posted our comparison of Taryn's "Jersey Shore" parody with the genuine article, and not just in regards to the cast. We learned that Taryn's vision for "Jersey Shore XXX" is more ambitious and expansive than her competitors could ever imagine. And when you consider that Taryn It Up Entertainment is still a fledgling company, you can tell what kind of moxie this girl has.

This girl also has deep ties to Jersey, secret projects in the works, and strong opinions on condom usage in porn. Let's get to know her better, shall we?

Fleshbot: So—besides "Jersey Shore XXX"—what's going on at Taryn It Up Entertainment?
Taryn Thomas: We shot "Vogue Nasty" in June. It's a gonzo, whatever. Then we stepped it up, we did "Dirty Games" which has yet to be released because of all the stuff we're doing with "Jersey Shore XXX". It's a movie based around "Saw", but it's a sexual "Saw." I'm in all five scenes, Justin Sterling did videography for us, Jim Enright directed it for us. It's a huge movie and we have a great cast: Phoenix Marie, Kylie Ireland, Poppy Morgan, Brynn Tyler...it's very hard, but it's very pretty at the same time. And dark.

Anymore gonzo in the works?
We will shoot high-end gonzos like "Dirty Games." "Dirty Games" has a four on one, two boy-boy-girl anals, and a five-way girl scene. So we'll be moving into bigger productions like that. Right now we have three other parodies in the works, but they will remain nameless!

How was working with Jim Enright?
He's great, I work with him on all my films. He's our company director. There's a few other people I'd like to have direct, but really my heart is with Jim. I don't want anybody else to direct.

If you could have any director work on your films, who would you choose?
If I was to have anybody direct anything for me, I'd choose Chi Chi LaRou. The thing is Chi Chi only directs condom only films, so we'd have to do a condom only movie.

On that note, how do you feel about condoms in porn films?
It's a very touchy subject, but I am all for the use of condoms. Really, are you gonna like, not want to protect yourself? If you have another option to protect yourself, I say take it! There's no reason why condoms shouldn't be—I wouldn't say "mandatory," I know people are going to say shit to me for saying that, but I think having them mandatory wouldn't be a problem. It shouldn't be a problem. It's like: do you wanna protect lives or do you want to kill people? That's basically the truth. The gay side of the business always uses condoms, why can't we? Their movies are still selling. I think the biggest problem the mainstream [straight] side of porn faces, the biggest argument, is that the viewers don't want to see that... I think a lot of our fans honestly do care about us, but I don't think they see through the other end of the microscope. But I think condoms are great; if you're on a Taryn It Up set and you want to use a condom, you are more than welcome to use a condom. Use ten! I'm just doing what I can do to help everyone out. I don't use condoms in my films; me personally, I mean. I will if it becomes mandatory. I have no problem with that.

Why do people like "Jersey Shore" so much? Or at least, what drew you to the show and this project?
I'm a Jersey Shore girl. I was raised in North Jersey until I was twelve, my grandparents have had a beach house in Lavallette for 58 years, my family owns some of the food places, like sausage places—sausage places, of course—my fiancée owns arcades, and I spent all my summers at the Shore. So ever since I was in my mom's womb I spent every summer at Seaside. "Jersey Shore" is such a great thing because we have "The Hills" and west coast shows but there was nothing for the east coast. Nothing at all! And I think this really was a great idea. 495 Productions was a genius for doing this. I had been saying for years, "We have to do something, we have to have a Jersey Shore movie, something has to be done on the Jersey Shore" and like I even tried to shoot a porn on the Shore in 2008, we just couldn't get the talent to come out here. I love the show and if I can do more than two "Jersey Shores", I will do ten. I love it so much!

Now that you've finally realized your dream, do you plan on doing another "Jersey Shore" parody?
At the moment we're planning on one more, but we want to do four to make it a series. Right now, in between shooting, the website is being redesigned so JerseyShoreXXX is going to have blogs, press mentions, and a spot especially for videos. The whole JSXXX.com thing will turn into a full-on reality website where you'll see webesodes from the cast in between shooting. The fun doesn't end with JSXXX the first one, we'll be doing scenes and clips and all this other stuff. So you can go to JSXXX, on, say, 10PM on Thursday night, and watch a JSXXX webesode. So we're gonna do that, we're gonna do clothing, lots of stuff we want to do for this movie. The possibilities of "Jersey Shore" are endless, and I love "Jersey Shore", so it was perfect for me to do. I'm kind of obsessed with the Shore and the show.

How do you feel about all the reactions to Jersey Shore? Yeah, everyone is obsessed, but some people—like Unico—are just angry.
I'm Italian, like 100% Italian. My mother is like, "Do you know what a guido is? You need to stay away from guidos, you are not a guidette. You don't know!" I'm like, "Mom, it's not anything bad anymore." But she says, "Yes it is! That's just the new version of a guido!" They are not happy.

How do you define "guido"?
Years ago I used to define guido as a guy with his hair slicked back, those guido pants, like Scarface pants, gold chains, and a wifebeater or a silk button down shirt. But nowadays a guido is someone with gelled up hair, tan, buff, and they look fucking hot, so how could you say you don't like guidos? And guidettes are pretty girls, too! Like everybody calls me guidette. I don't think there's anything wrong with it, you know? Guido power.
