Pornstars make a living by being very, very good at sex. And while some of their talents just come naturally, many still have some tips and tricks that they can pass on to civilians...civilians like us!
As part of our mission to make the world a better place (and your bedroom a hotter one), we've reached out to some of our favorite stars to get a few of their sex tips. This week, Joanna Angel sounds off on getting it up the backside...and, as an added bonus, she sent us a little gallery of, ahem, inspirational photos.

When was the first time you had anal sex?
I was 22 when I first had anal sex—and I lost my virginity when I was 18... so I was sexually active for a while before I tried it!
Was it something you'd wanted to try for a while, or was it suggested by a partner?
It was definitely something I wanted to try for a while and I suggested it to my partner. He was way more nervous than I was!

How was your first time? What kind of prep did you do to get ready for it?
I honestly did no prep for it my first time... me and my partner at the time were having sex and I was just like, "Put it in my ass!" And fortunately it all worked out. I have heard of many stories where people's first time having anal sex was spur of the moment like that as well and it wasn't quite as um.... clean. I think your body kinda knows when it's cool to have impromptu anal sex and when it's not. If your hormones are saying yes and your stomach is saying no—well, don't ignore the stomach!

Did you have to consciously work at your anal performance, or was it just something that came naturally?
it really just came naturally to me. It's something I love to do...I never had to pretend it felt good, it really always felt good. Something I really love about anal sex is that I feel like every time I am having it for the first time. I don't know if this is like TMI but—my pussy has sort of um... expanded over the years. My ass is still really tight, so I don't really know if there is a way to get "better" at anal sex the way you can get better at vaginal sex.

These days, how do you prepare for an anal scene?
I try not to go overboard with the anal prep—I eat light food (I certainly don't starve myself but I don't eat huge meals either), nothing dairy or spicy. I try not to drink coffee, I do a few enemas with warm water and I'm usually good to go. You just have to listen to your body—the rules that apply to me can't apply to everyone else. Everyone's body is different.

Any tips for civilians looking to include anal play in the sex life?
Go slow at first. Use lots of spit or a lube that you like, don't do it right after you eat Taco Bell, and just have a good time. The goal is to get turned on, not to prove to your spouse that you can perform in some kind of circus act.
