Ayaka Uchiyama Is Here To Please You (But First, A Chat)

Who is Ayaka Uchiyama? Maybe she's your angel. Or maybe she's your devil! She could be a super hot Taiwanese gravure model who's been busting out movies left and right. Long story short, she could be your new best friend.

Her first movie, "Ayaka Is Your Angel," came out in may, and another film called "Thai Relax" just hit stores two days ago. Why should you care? Well, it's not too often that we go over-the-top crazy for a young woman prancing about in angel wings and glitter and not showing any of the naughty bits of her body. Ayaka Uchiyama is just the type of girl you want to bring home to mother—given that your mom doesn't mind infinitely small bikinis, or the fact that you and Ayaka are eating dinner alone in the tub.

Ayaka was kind enough to answer a bunch of our questions, send over some pictures, and generally give us a feel for where she's coming from/where she's going. The future is bright for this upcoming gravure starlet!

Fleshbot: Let's start at the beginning. How did you become a gravure model?
Ayaka: One day I picked up an old newspaper and noticed an ad in it from Studio Happy Chicken. They were looking for gravure models. I had a meeting with them, and I was very nervous, but they seemed very kind and they had people who worked for them from China so it helped me relax (side note: most companies in Japan only have Japanese staff). Many companies in Japan advertise for gravure models but then want to make sex videos, but after meeting everyone I could tell that this company was honest. I practiced with trainers for two months until I was ready to make my debut video. It was a lot of hard work, but fun, too!

What's the hardest part about your job?
As a gravure idol you have to really be aware of your weight! So I have to be careful of what I eat because it's easy to see if you've gained weight in between videos. There are so many delicious foods but I have to be careful around them!

And the best part of your job?
I enjoy seeing my videos and pictures when they're finished. When I look at them, I think, "is that really me?" It's also fun to look on the Internet and see what people are saying about me. I also enjoy talking with my fans on my Facebook page as well!

What makes gravure unique? Why do people find it appealing?
I think men like gravure because it's not so much extreme as AV (side note: Japanese porn is called AV). It allows me to be sexy with out embarrassing myself. Gravure is appealing because it's like I am my fan's girlfriend! They can go on a date with me in their heads and have a good time, not just sex. And when you don't show everything, people always wonder what parts of me they'll get to see in the next video! It's always more exciting when you can't have everything all at once, don't you think?

How do you prepare for a gravure shoot?
Before we film, I practice the scenes a lot. Sometimes I watch other idol videos to get an idea for what I want to do. When we film, it's really a collaboration between the director and me; I like working with HCK because if I have an idea for a scene he will always listen and give me the chance to try new things. When I first started training to be an idol, I always had to practice in the most embarrassing, tiny outfits! But now I see it helped me be relaxed about my body. Now I'm not afraid to show anything when we film!

Would you ever consider showing full frontal nudity, or making hardcore pornography?
I have been nude in two of my videos, but I'm covered a little by rose petals or by bubbles in the shower. It's really embarrassing to think to show people between my legs. I know in the DVD Thai Relax you can almost see everything, and I was so shocked! But after watching it a few times I began to feel more comfortable. I know many of my fans would like me to make AV; but that's part of the fun of gravure... the tease. Would I be so alluring if you could just see it all? Sometimes things are better in your mind. That way, anything can happen!

What was it like making "Ayaka Is Your Angel"? Did you have trouble getting comfortable at first?
It was really fun! I was nervous at first, but everyone really helped to put me at ease. Some days were really long, like the scene in the bar. That scene to 12 hours to shoot, and by the end everyone was so tired! One of the most difficult parts was putting on my angel outfit. My manager and I had to put tiny little glitter things all over my body! Because the scene takes place at night, we had to wait until night to film, and we finally finished at 2am! But I was so happy and amazed to see the finished film. I think it was a good introduction for me to the world!

Do you have more fun posing for pictures or starring in films?
Making pictures is much easer than making films! It takes less time and all I have to do is pose. But I really like making films. It's a lot more work, but the results always amaze me. One of this things I like about Studio Happy Chicken is they make gravure films that don't look like traditional gravure films... so when I see them I feel I am in a real movie!

Are there any gravure or AV models you admire?
I like Aki Hoshino. She's a famous gravure idol in Japan who is also on many TV programs. I hope I can become this popular! I also like Sora Aoi. She's so daring! She has done gravure in the past (side note: she now makes porn) and in her films you feel like she isn't afraid to show you anything!

Do you plan on staying a gravure model for a long time, or are there other careers you'd like to pursue?
I really enjoy being a gravure idol. My dream someday is to open a fashion shop in Tokyo.

What do you do in your free time?
I really enjoy shopping and sleeping!

Are there any new projects that you're currently working on?
Right now we're working on a sequel to "Ayaka is your Angel" called "Ayaka is your Devil." It's the opposite of the first film. In "Ayaka is your Angel" I was very sweet and put into sexy situations. Now I can hold nothing back because I am a devil tempting you! It's fun because I get to play a bad character who is a little sadistic. I have had to practice my evil laugh. We're also working on an action film where I get to shoot guns and beat people up. It's going to be fun because it really is like a movie! I get to do a lot of acting and I have a lot of lines. But it's difficult training for the fighting scenes because I've never had to fight before, and the director insists that everything be real, so I have to study army training.
