The box cover for Vivid's upcoming Tila Tequila sex tape proclaims that it's "the XXX tape she doesn't want you to see!" This, friends, is not what's known as truth in advertising.
And, for that matter, neither is Radar's new claim that Tila Tequila is super pissed off about the tape and totally threatening to sue Vivid. This is another example of what we like to call "probably a lie."
Let's get a few things straight, here: Vivid has had this Tila Tequila tape for months. We first heard about it back in September—just a few weeks before Radar (yep, the very same Radar) broke the story of Tila's other, boy/girl sex tape (which, quite frankly, will probably hit the market sooner or later—or as soon as someone ponies up enough dough to get Tila to sign a release form).
And speaking of release forms: Vivid has them. They have to. They are not some fly by night organization willing to flout the laws, they're one of porn's biggest companies, and they know—as surely as I know—that to legally release and sell a video of someone having sex, they've got to have some serious paperwork in their back pocket. In particular, paperwork that includes Tila Tequila's permission to release and sell said video.
Oh, and despite all their promises to buy Octomom's house and make her a kajillionaire, Vivid probably didn't cut Tila that big a check for her sex tape. In fact, they probably just wrote her a contract offering royalties on the sales. Which brings us back to that line on the box cover: if Tila Tequila is going to make any money off of this, it's got to sell a whole heck of a lot of copies. So why the front about wanting to sue and hating the tape being out there?
Simple: when sex doesn't sell, controversy sure as shit does.
And, last but not least: if all this has your head spinning about whether you should buy the tape, and what to believe, we've got a little something to help you think straight. A brief clip of said sex tape has (of course) wound up on the internet. You can watch it above. We can't promise that it'll make any of this make more sense...but at least you'll get a peek at what the whole hubbub's about.
