At long last, Fleshbot has joined its sibling sites and embraced the Gawker Media redesign. So yes, things look a little bit different around here today—but we think it's a big improvement. Here's why.
For starters, the new front page is a lot simpler and lighter, which means it will load quickly. (It may not be loading all the quickly at this very moment. If not, we apologize; we're working out kinks as we speak!) And at last we have a way to display big, gorgeous images and videos (of naked people!) on the front page of our site. There are still some bugs (though not nearly as many as the ones faced by the other eight sites who pioneered the redesign) that are being worked out, but here are a few tips to get things nice and lubricated for you.
(But first, a message for those who feel put off by change: if you don't like the new look, you can switch to Blog view at any time by clicking the Blog view button at the top of the page. If you're in Blog view, you'll be able to scan through previews of stories before clicking through to read them—just like in the old design!—and, as an added bonus, you'll have super big thumbnails...way better than the old design, right?)
What's with that column on the right?
In the old design, the only way to access the wealth of stories offered up by your friendly Fleshbot staff was to go to the front page. Lame. Now, wherever you are, you'll have easy access to the many bits of nudity found on the site, all through the blog column that travels with you, no matter where you go. (Also—it has big thumbnail images!)
What do those icons mean?
At the top of the right-hand column, you'll see three icons: A house, a flame, and a magnifying glass. Click the house if you want to see today's stories. Click the flame for today's most popular stories. Click the glass for search.
How do I get rid of those [men/women/naked people I don't want to see]?
We think that every story we run is awesome, but we understand that some people prefer to filter out some of our content. If you primarily enjoy looking at naked women (or what's known as "straight" content in the industry), go here. More into the men (or "gay" content)? This link is for you. And if you're one of those hip, urbane folks who just likes everything, well, Fleshbot All is for you. (And if you lose those links, don't worry—content can be toggled by pressing the straight/gay/all buttons at the top of the page.)
And remember: if you don't like the new design, you can always switch to the blog view—which gives you something that's a lot like the way the old site looked (but with bigger pictures!).
I've got feedback! Who do I contact?
If you've got feedback, good or bad, screwy screenshot or bug, send it to [email protected].
EDIT: We are aware that there are bugs at present (including some gay content appearing in the straight flow), and our tech team is hard at work getting them sorted out.
