American Apparel’s Naked Advertising Gets Even More Gratuitous

We're used to seeing (a lot of) nudity in American Apparel ads, but this one takes things to a whole new level. See, usually the nudity at least seems topical: the girl is in her underwear (or a swimsuit), or she's wearing a very sheer top, or her nipples have accidentally slipped out of her top. But this? This is something else.

We'd be willing to accept an American Apparel ad featuring a girl in disco shorts working out, or a girl wearing disco shorts and nothing else (hey, we're often topless at home!). But a girl in disco shorts and nothing else, lifting weights? That, friends, just doesn't make sense.

(Not that we're complaining!)
