Stagg Street Is Worth All Your Bucks

We've been fans of Ellen Stagg's photography for a damn long time, but we've never had the chance to mess around with the members' section of her website, Stagg Street. All that has changed, we have messed with stuff, and we loved every minute of it.

Ellen Stagg fell in love with photography when she was sixteen, and two years later she left the suburbs of Connecticut to head for the School of Visual Arts in New York City. She got her BFA and started doing big ad campaigns, fashion shoots, and portraits for various magazines, look books, and celebrities. The whole naked lady picture thing started as Stagg's personal work, but that all changed in December 2005 when she met her muse, Justine Joli. This redheaded goddess introduced Stagg to many more models and helped the young photographer develop her craft—a style that she says is "too 'artsy' for porn mags and too 'porny' for commercial work." The erotic photography doesn't pay the bills, but hey, maybe if enough of you sign up, Ellen can quit her day jobs and become a full time sexy-female-picture-taker! Of course, something has to be in it for you. Well then...

Photos: Hey, you want photos? That's what Stagg Street is all about. It's hard to compare Ellen's work to traditional smut because, well, it isn't your usual fap material. Not only does Ellen bring years of experience to the table, she also gets along with her models ridiculously well. Every pornstar who has had the pleasure of working with Ms. Stagg pretty much has a huge crush on her, and you can tell in the photos. There is an intimacy in these photos that simply cannot be faked; it's the kind of thing that makes viewers like us connect with the subject, and on the occasions when multiple girls are working together in one shoot, it often makes them randomly have sex in front of Ellen. (We should note that lesbian sex is the only thing on the menu. If you were hoping for penises here, you will be disappointed.)

Even though we love the material with all our hearts, we're not so crazy about the way its organized. Since this used to be a Blogspot site, Stagg Street is pretty much set up like a blog: the main page has a big chunk of chronologically-listed posts, and there are a couple sidebars for quick navigation. One of the sidebars is simply a list of every girl Ellen has on the site. It's handy when you're looking for someone specific, but it's not useful if you're just browsing because the box is very small and only has first names. When you click on a model's name, it brings up every post with that model in the same blog format.

Movies: Ellen isn't a filmmaker, but she does have people take behind-the-scenes footage of her shoots, and they give you an extra-personal look at what goes on around Stagg Street. They're organized in the same manner as the photos and they're quite educational.

Other Awesome, Somewhat Unclassifiable Stuff: Stagg Street has its very own coffee table book! If your domicile needs something that is both classy and filled with naked ladies, we strongly suggest you consider buying this. Plus, when you purchase it, you get a free membership to the website!

Speaking of things that are free and/or cost money, now would be a good time to talk about how much Stagg Street costs. There are number of options that range from four-day trial periods (for about $5) to 180-day commitments (for $80, non-recurring), but the best deal is ninety days for $38 on a recurring basis. Of course, you could buy one of the coffee table books and get either six months or a year depending on what size you purchase.

There are probably a lot of you who don't see the sense in paying for Stagg Street because it doesn't have any high-def hardcore penetration and the only videos are of behind-the-scenes footage. If that's the kind of stuff you're looking for, then you probably wouldn't like this site. However, if you're looking for completely unpretentious erotic art at a reasonable price (and we do think it's reasonable, we were joking about the "All Your Bucks" thing), then Stagg Street is for you. You can feel the love circulating around this site, passing between Ellen and her subjects, and that is not something you find everyday.

Heck, at least give the four-day trial a shot!
