There are many ways to celebrate your thirtieth birthday. Some people see it as a time to get serious about life and put away the frivolities of youth, others see it as a reason to start partying even harder. Still others see it as just another meaningless birthday—while the photographer behind The Death of Youth found himself inspired to take photos of beautiful nude women.
In the lengthy artist's statement accompanying the project, the nameless photographer rhapsodizes about the way closing the door on his twenties had transformed many of his unfulfilled hopes and dreams into lost opportunities—a sentiment he hoped to encapsulate in this photo series of lithe young beauties, who presumably symbolize the lost pleasures of youth.
We can't say whether or not the photos will make you feel nostalgic for days gone by, but even if you're not pondering the death of youth while perusing at The Death of Youth, you'll still be appreciating some very beautiful photos.
