Since the 20th century, Hustler's "Barely Legal" family of magazines and videos has explored all 14 of the possible scenarios between younger women and the dudes that take advantage of them. We visit Ariana Fox of "Barely Legal 120."
"Barely Legal" videos, the brainchild of Larry Flynt and the late director Clive McLean, effectively launched Hustler's video department in 1999, growing from the successful "BL" magazines McLean published. Since McLean's death in 2005, the series has been helmed by directors like his widow, Erica, as well as longtime Hustler photographer Matti Klatt, Andre Madness and, most recently, Otto Bauer.
While every now and then you might see someone who is actually in her late 20s show up as a barely legal teen, the thrust, as it were, of the series usually involves not-so-virginal predatrices scoring with the older dudes who don't look a gift horse in the mouth.
The lovely and game Ariana Fox is for some reason confusing a modest hilltop home for an institution of higher learning when she has the following conversation with an uncredited cougar:
"Hi Professor."
"Hi, Arianna. It's summer vacation. What are you doing here?"
"Well, I'm kind of nervous. I was at the library studying earlier."
"What were you studying?"
"It was about sex!"
The busty professor (it sure looked like Kelly Madison, but what was she doing there? And why didn't she get a credit for her fine work?) begins playing with her nipples, and then introduces Fox to yet another professor, Jenner, who takes her the rest of the way.
It is these kinds of harmless "What the fuck just happened?" exchanges that keep "Barely Legal" light.
"Barely Legal 120" comes in a special 4-disc set also containing installments 70, 79, and 98; they provide a snapshot of the Erica McLean and Matti Klatt takes on the art form. (That, or Hustler just had extras of those titles in abundance, which is way more likely-though I reviewed #98 for this site and liked it.)
It would have been cool to get really early "Barely Legal"s for the nostalgia of seeing, for example, younger Belladonna or Kimberly Kane, as well as dozens of performers who are no longer in the business. But I'll bet you a dollar that, come this time next year, at least 20 percent of the stars of "Barely Legal 120" will no longer be in the business.
Not Ariana Fox, though. I bet she'll stay around for a few post-legal years.
